You can't possibly expect this in today's college football landscape. Sorry.

Why not. I'm not saying go undefeated. Basically you're saying that I should just accept 2-3 losses a season. You're dumb. If you accept that logic you must also believe in participation trophies

Incredible that we had the ball for 42 mins and had 500 yards of offense and still had to hang on to win. That game should have been a blowout.

8-4 is where most of us thought this team would be,

As for worst in 15 years? Saban's first team in 2000 was utterly miserable on D. Remember Hookfin???

OL could be a bigger problem next year.

Gonna be a long time before we ever win another BCS game. Probably a long time for anyone else too. Might want to find a new measuring stick.

I'd say this team was better than the 2008 and 2009 teams given the total body of work, with a bowl game to go before the final judgement.

I give the 2000 team a pass due to the state of the program coming in.

Exactly

We beat Wisky because they decided to quit feeding the ball to Gordon, and lost two linemen to injury

We beat Fla because they dropped a WIDE OPEN game winning TD

We beat Ole miss because their QB threw a pick, instead of taking the game to OT

We beat A&M because of a blown call

We didn't have an 8-4 record because Miles did his job, we had an 8-4 record because other people DID NOT do theirs

Its rather pathetic when you look at it for what it really was

look at the qbs of each team ahead of LSU in the west. all but one is a senior. prescott is a jr with a real possibility of leaving this year.

LSU's position of weakness this year happened to be at the same time of upperclassmen starting for all of these other teams. it happens.

next year this flips. not saying miles and cam suddenly take the foot off of the brakes. but the experience shifts more towards LSU. even if Harris starts.

you sound like a Gump. We beat all those teams because of plays we made. You're a moron.

I see your point but we wouldn't have necessarily lost some of those, like A&M and Ole Miss.

This - we are equal or superior to Bama and the rest of the country in every category...except coaching.

Which is frustrating.

And why would it be the worse team? How about coaches who did not recruit the QB position? How can anyone at any time justify 4-4 especially since we have not "competed for championships for 3 years running? SEC west next year or else.

In all three of those years, you saw potential at the QB position.

2000 - Davey emerged in the bowl game as a legitimate QB.

2002 - Mauck got hurt early in the year and Randle was a clear step back, so we knew going into 2003, we had a good QB coming back.

2008 - Lee and the offense didn't play bad aside from the pick 6's and when Jefferson came in against Arkansas and in the bowl game, everyone saw the potential that he had.

2014 - Our offense was pitiful and I have not seen any progress made at the QB position. I see a guy with better talent sitting on the bench and our coach forgetting to put him in the game. I also see Bama, AU, OM, and Arkansas better now than they have been in the past and continuing to get better.

While I appreciate your silver-lining, I don't think we can count on the problem to be fixed because of what happened in the past. There is a glaring weakness that we have that we didn't have in those 3 previous bad years, and all actions by the coaching staff say that it might not get better.
