I agree. We're a QB away from being really good.

For heaven's sake. This was aTm, the same defense Auburn put 41 on and Bama 59.

You are too blind in your hate for Miles that you didn't realize what he was referring to. Nobody is talking about the huge amount of yardage we put up. We are talking about the play calling. it looked much more creative tonight than anything this whole year for us.

Also, it's not like TAMU was the only reason we put up a lot of yardage.

We ran for 264 against Ole Miss and 183 against Bama with Jennings getting 40 of those yards.

Throwing off some of those options next year will be another great price to the offense. I can't wait to see Harris run something like this in 2015.

Not sure why we waited until the last game of the season to start running the jet sweep and a LOT more read option. Those sets were the diamond in the rough.

A&M can make even A J look like a serviceable QB. It wasn't our offense. It was their defense.

Their D is terrible. However, we never run the read option that much and we should be running it as much as we did tonight because the few times we've run it this year, we've done pretty well with it. It's an easy way to do what we do, but make it a hell of a lot less predictable. And there were a few times that Jennings had the ball running and I had no clue that he had it.

People are saying it's a result of A&M's defense sucking.

No.. They changed things up and were successful because A&M's defense sucks.

LSU ran a freaking rub route. They didn't know what those were the first 11 games.

You are... That amount of yardage should have meant at least 40 points.. Face it. LSU CAN'T put people away like they should... A great win.. BUT.............

LSU put people away on O last year, and the D lacked. This yea the D plays well, and the O lacks. LSU FINALLY has a recruiting class that covers nearly all of their major needs for the immediate future.

I agree with you on some other things regarding LSU football, but don't act like there isn't something to be excited about with this group.

We are discussing play calling and he's flying off subject because he's pissed. I'm calling him out. Oh and BTW, how was my prediction about us running lol. Told you so.

I brought it up because he acts like TAMU's defense being bad was the only reason we ran well. We've ran well since the UF game. We had a bad game last week because of the OL, but we were back on track this week.

Game should have been 29-17 even with the refs screwing us over very badly twice before TAMU's final play. Missing easy FGs is usually not what LSU does. Game kinda reminded me of the 24-19 game against TAMU in 2012. We self destructed a lot on defense. Fournette runs up to like the Aggie 30, then we just start self destructing with penalties. Could have put the game away at 27-10.

Our big runs against Wisconsin in the 2nd half were read option plays. Kenny Hilliard's long TD in that one to give us the lead was a read option run.

Also, Harris' 46-yard TD in the home opener was a read option keeper. That was our longest rush of the year until Fournette tied it tonight on his long run late in the game. So LSU has had some nice success with the play.

Maybe because we played a team that can't stop the run?

It's funny how some of you see a matchup against a certain team, and think it is going to work against other teams. Jennings can't pass the ball. LSU's offense will continue to be shitastic as long as he is the qb at LSU....except for a few games a year when they play steams that are weak against the run.

Sure there is....a lot to be excited about....but the fact is that we still lack a qb....until we sprout one of those, we will continue to win 8, 9, and maybe 10 games...which is good...but won't get us where we won't to be. We HAVE to be able to throw the ball to get back to the top.

Jennings looks like a serviceable QB both running and passing. Just needed an offense like this to bring it out. Still got way to conservative at times and couldn't expect to not have some kinks in the offense being it's the first time we ran it. Still, Harris in this kind of offense would make all my hate for Cams offense go away. It already has.

I don't give a crap how different it looked, until you can effectively pass the damn football every game will be a nail bitter and most will end with a loss. We will not compete for any kind of championship in the West as long as we can't pass the ball period.

This is a good post.

I think our offense would be scary good with an above average QB.
