Android Chrome browser questions

Couple of questions:
1. When I have multiple tabs open, the browser does not show the tab count anywhere. Do I need to enable this manually in settings somewhere?
2. Also 'Reader mode' in Safari was one of my most used features on the iPhone. How do I get this on Chrome? Is it even available?

It should be at the top to the right of the address bar

No but whatever stock browser your phone has should have that feature

I don't see it. Here's a screenshot:

I have a Nexus 4 running lollipop. Chrome is the stock browser and I don't see it anywhere.

That's weird. Maybe they removed it in Lollipop. Try downloading the Chrome Beta
Well that sucks

Touch those three dots at the top right, and you will see all of your available options. Recent tabs shows me my tabs on my nexus as well as my main PC.

Go into Chrome settings and turn off Merge tabs and apps.

Yep, that brought the tab numbers back! Thank you very much. I actually like it much better this way. Keeps the multi-tasking rolodex clean.
Any idea when the 'Reader mode' will make its way from Chrome Beta to Chrome?

I prefer tabs, too. I tried the other way briefly, but it would take some getting used to.
