Saints

We need to do better in the redzone offensively. We're pretty balanced on 1st down. 185 passes to 169 rushes.

We've only run 52 plays from the No Huddle Shotgun.

Yay...2.53ypc behind the center, 4.25ypc behind RG, and 4.32ypc behind LG.

And we keep Goodwin in...why?

I'm clicking on a few plays on NFL Rewind right now.

1st and 10, Play Action pass that Baltimore completely bites on.

Brees turns around, and Goodwin and his defender are already 7 yards into the backfield and still can't stop Brees from getting hit despite holding.

Absolutely pathetic. I'll have to wait for the coach's view, but it looks like we were going to have a huge play. Instead it is 2nd and 16 killing the drive.

Then he was sacked again on 3rd and 16 on a completely blown assignment by Hill. I'm glad Goodwin knows how to adjust the protection, since that has cost us a game (Cleveland). On this play, we had 2 guys sitting there looking for someone to block while Brees takes a free running hit

I hope you didn't need a website to tell you this

anytime the Saints get inside the 10 I just chalk up a turnover or best case scenario a FG. I'm actually pleasantly stunned when they score a TD

We score a TD on 57% of our redzone possessions. Actually better than last year. Our worst redzone game was actually the Packers.

I don't remember a redzone turnover besides the Falcons game either.

You're not counting turnovers on downs?

That isn't considered a turnover despite the name. That was what I was thinking of when I started the thread though. I was also thinking about the 1st quarter of Green Bay, the SF game, and this game.

That is just a failure. We've been pretty special at those failures.

I think he was in the redzone. That is the only one I can remember.

I don't think the SF was in the redzone, but that was a 2 minute drill disaster versus redzone inefficiency.

It was nice to see us run the 2 minute drill to perfection vs. the Ravens. I really think we should go no huddle more often. It would benefit the defensive line and give Brees more time to adjust coverage
