Is there a dumber group of people than the "the country is going downhill" crowd

I actually love 'em because in addition to a lack of intelligence (especially in regard to the history of this country of ours), they're also scared.

Well.. besides for the internet/electronics, there hasn't been that much cultural change in the past sixty years or so

How is the country better now than it was in 1964?

They got to the moon using slide rules and lead the world in technology. They made their own goods. Student loans were affordable, as was housing They also took pride in the fact that they weren't being surveilled by the state unknowingly- how many people say "its a free country" anymore?

I would love to hear about how we have improved on that.

Here's a question for you- what areas did we lead the world in 50 years ago that we don't now?
