JVG is on Zach Lowe's pod cast semi regularly and I really like the way he thinks. That's the VG I'd go after.
Someone posted a clip of him last week and man is he looking old. I like Karl, especially for this roster, but I don't know if he's got it in him to finish what he starts.

Thyroid cancer, multiple treatments, strain of the road trips, staying up late for game tape reviews, etc.
If he wants a job and think he could finish, he'll take it.

It isn't about how Detroit is playing right now, they have been a complete mess for a while now. SVG is a really good coach and would know how to get the best of the players the Pelicans have now and continue to build around AD.
Detroit is waiting for bad contracts to expire and get a good player in the draft, the Pels are trying to find out how to get in the playoffs with the 3rd best player in the NBA.
