Christmas is a constantly evolving holiday. It's been known by various names and various traditions. People need to get over the fact that other people/religions/non religions use the holiday for how they want to celebrate it.

I believe some insufferable atheists want it removed from the public eye, yes.

Christmas in the Oaks (New Orleans city park) was changed to Celebration in the Oaks due to non-Catholic pressure.
Happy Holidays has replaced Merry Christmas EVERYWHERE.

Oh and according to the federal government -- at least as far as discriminatory advertising is concerned -- Christmas and Easter are generic holidays with no real religious connotation and can be used in advertisements without being considered discriminatory.
