'I heard stuff, but I couldn’t tell you what it was. Like I said, I was just so focused on getting the gun out of me. When I did get it up to this point, he is still holding on to it and I pulled the trigger and nothing happens, it just clicked. I pull it again, it just clicked again.

quote:

‘At this point I’m like: why isn’t this working, this guy is trying to kill me if he gets ahold of his gun. I pulled a third time, it goes off. When it went off, it shot through my door and my window was down and glass flew out of my door panel. I think that kind of startled him and me at the same time. When I see the glass come up, it comes, a chunk about that big comes across my right hand and then I notice I have blood on the back on my hand.

quote:

‘He comes back towards me again with his hands up. At this point I just went like this, I tried to pull the trigger again, click, nothing happened.’

A: ’So I pulled the trigger, it just clicks that time. Without even looking, I just grab the top of my gun, the slide and I racked it, and I put my, still not looking, just holding my hand up, I pulled the trigger again, it goes off. When it look back after that-

The muscle memory that conditioned him to rack slide on FTF may have saved his life.

I agree but they were fighting for the weapon. Who the hell knows what actually happened. I mean, we know about the misfires but no idea what caused them. Another thing of interest, Wilson was 6'4" and 210. How fricking huge was the kid?

No doubt. Just saying, it doesn't look good when the officer is saying "I kept pulling the trigger but all I heard was click."

click
This is the term that has me scratching. In the event of a misfire, maybe one click. I just cant wrap my mind around it. Also, I am sure that in the moment everything is a blur so exact memory may be an issue as well. Pulling the trigger without a shot is one thing but CLICK is BAD.

Could have been adrenaline, and he just never heard the shot. We've all experienced it hunting, I know I have. I don't think I've ever heard a shot I've fired at a deer. I would think in a fight with a person like that his adrenaline was through the roof, his mind may have thought the gun never fired because he didn't hear it. That's just my two cents.

If I'm in marketing for a gun manufacturer, I'm smelling opportunity.

Seriously, though, just plain scary.

I'd like to think the slide was slightly back when they struggled in the car. I guess one downside of a hammer-fired gun is that the recoil spring is, in fact, weaker, since it works in conjunction with the hammer. But then again, if the slide is slightly retracted on a striker-fired pistol it wouldn't discharge either.

But the restrike capability of the Sig and his quick failure clear saved his bacon.

Despite the misfires...........I'd say the Sig did its job in the long run.
