Is Tallow Creek open tomorrow? Looking for a place to shoot the ARs in St Tammany

couldn't you have just called.

I think they are open as long as there is daylight. Remember you can't use fly there unless they changed recently.
Did you ever get that lower together?

I'm never going back there. Last time I went out there the range guy tried to bill me for 3 hours and I had been there for only an hour to the minute. He called me a liar and didn't want to change it. I showed him text messages from my wife telling her I was just getting to academy 30 minutes before I got there. He said I made them up. He billed me just for an hour after he bitched and I wouldn't budge. Honey Island for me from now on. Cheaper and nicer.
You can't rapid fire at Tc either and can at HI

quote:No and I've been meaning to text you. Been ridiculously crazy lately. This week, I'll likely be ordering a nicer LPK than I have right now and then shoot you a text. Winter is approaching so I'm in no real rush at the moment

I know Tallow Creek is terrible...but there is no where else in St Tammany that can shoot ARs on a Wednesday. I dont have access to my friend's mud pit tomorrow

They are open until 5pm.

There's at least 2 Honey Island Range Officers on this board (cough cough).
I know one of them is always off on Wednesdays and the other (me) has quite a few Wednesdays and other weekdays off. Unfortunately I'm working tonight and tomorrow night but in the future, hit me up with a message on the BC with a few days notice and if I'm available, I'll gladly go out there with you...
THIS GOES FOR ANYONE ON THIS BOARD...

I no longer shoot at ranges very often as I shoot in my backyard now (In St. Tammany, Tots you should have called me) I havne't been to HI in well over 20 years.
However the two range officers I have met through this board are fine people and can't believe they don't do a fine job.

When you're someone who's genuinely concerned for the safety and we'll being of your customers AND YOURSELF, sometimes that requires being what you perceive as a "hard arse".
Honey Island is the only public range in the state NOT run by DW&F. If you're used to going to some rinky dink range with a single minimum wage range officer in duty who could care less about your safety then yes, coming to Honey Island will be a different experience for you.
We run a tight ship and do it regimentally so that it's always the same, no matter when you come or who's on duty.
You perceive hard arse. I perceive it that I'm trying to keep MYSELF and everyone else around me from being muzzle swept by the M-F, 9-5 desk jockey who's wife just got him a shiney new firearm for his birthday and he's never shot one before in his life.
It's all about safety my friend.

it's all about safety...everyone should go home with the same number of holes they go in with...
it's a little unnerving to get muzzle swept several times in a day by the "self proclaimed professional shooter"...you know...the ones who think they are the object of perfection in every firearm aspect of their lives, complacency get them every time...they make the same mistakes as a newb...
sounds like someone got caught being unsafe a number of times...following the rules that are made for everyone to follow allows you and I to go home without incident...

I live off 1077 and use TC once a yr. i bring my deer rifles. Shoot one bullet in the bullseye at 100 yds then leave. I cant shoot at my camp without disturbing the area I hunt so its just a necessary thing for me.
That being said Honey Island is hands down one of the best ranges Ive been too and they run it right.
So if Im plinking a brick with the kiddos or if I have a few hrs HI all day. And its cheaper.

It's a shithole and that's downgrading shitholes everywhere.

Y'all have had issues recently, but HI is generally run very well.
