Could you imagine how heart breaking it must be watching your way of life just burn to the ground? The sad thing is that these impoverished rioters won't be able to pay back the owners for damages, since the vast majority are on government aid.
It is so, so hard for me not to be a little bit prejudiced watching this. Somebody needs to go into these inner cities and tell these people that property is a god given right, and that you have NO authority to violate that right.
Throughout places like Ferguson, Detroit, Jackson, etc- there is an epidemic of property rights being violated- whether it be monetary property rights violations (welfare, aid), or physical property rights (looting, breaking windows).
Is there an underclass in ANY first world nation that violates property rights so severely as America's inner city/ghetto underclass?

No. And our president essentially encourages it.

Of course there is. Doesn't make it any better.

that's what I thought too but some guy in the other thread said insurance doesn't cover looting
I didn't know that and I find that hard to believe

Nope.
There's no coverage because riots are excluded on insurance policies.
As I posted on the other thread, I do this for a living. Read any commercial or homeowners property insurance policy. It'll say "Excluded: war, riots, civil action, nuclear events."
These business owners are completely fricked.

man that's terrible if true

Riot and civil commotion are exclusions. Those business owners and homeowners aren't getting a dime

Nobody on CNN or CBS or msnbc will give two shits about the hundreds of hard working families that will be devestated by this crime.

I would have cleared my shelves of whatever I sold, claimed it was stolen, gotten indemnified, and left town forevermore.
