I just wished that our staff would quit trying to be like the Jones' and just realize that a big ten type QB would be more than sufficient to win! If Miles would do that...I wouldn't be thinking about jumping on the get rid of Miles train!

The last QB we recruited and developed who could be considered a "Big Ten type" QB took four years to become serviceable. I really don't think it's about the type of QB we recruit - if you can't develop QBs (we can't), it doesn't matter whether you bring in the next Russell Wilson or Cam Newton or Tom Brady, they're not gonna live up to their potential.

Big ten type QB would be someone that can read defenses and feels comfortable dropping back to pass. He doesn't play the spread game. He plays the pro style type offense that Miles likes!

just because you can run doesn't necessarily mean you can't throw or read defenses. Mettenbergers don't grow on trees.

I agree. A QB like Connor Cook or Kirk Cousins or Brian Hoyer would have made the difference between of at least two more wins.

I would settle for a MAC QB.

seriously what is so hard to understand about this. How many young men do we need to run through the QB Mill here before you figure it out, doesn't matter who they are, that is not the problem

That is the issue, Miles wants QB's like Jennings and Jefferson because of their 'skill set'. Then he puts them in a system that neutralizes their skill set and asks them to throw from the pocket. It is definition of insanity.

And who the hell is that?

Also, have you watched the Big 10 lately? Four of their teams are in the top 35 of total offense. Three are in the top 25.

It is something like the "up North" o-linemen semjackass (BRAVEHEART) calls for. I don't think it includes the highest ranked B10 team's (Ohio State) QB.
