Some dogs get conditioned to prefer the inside

I had a dog that only went out to pee or shite. Otherwise she parked by the easy chair and couldn't be moved with less than an army division.

Sweetest dog ever though
My dog wants to wherever my and my wife are. Inside, outside, etc doesnt really matter. They are pack animals, they want to be with the pack for the most part

Mine stays outside when I'm working, but he's in a pen at the farm. I think he gets bored on days when I'm home because I have to keep him inside. I'm in the market for a house and one of the criteria is having a fenced in back yard. He loves being outside.

You can leave it outside. Just don't tie it to a tree with a 6 ft chain like these Mexicans in AZ do.

Ours are technically inside dogs. Big dogs sleep in crates at night and while we're at work. Small dogs sleep on their dog beds in the gated dog lair. Dog lair attaches to the laundry room where the big dogs are. When we're home, they all have free range in/out via doggie door.

We have a doggy door. I don't worry about the bandits. They know what resides in my house of death.

IMO dogs don't want to be inside, as long as you go out and show them attention

FALSE. I have to bribe my great dane to come out of the house unless he has to pee/poop. He'd rather be curled up on the couch 23/24 hours of the day

My dog lives outside. Only comes inside if the weather is too cold.

Mine is an indoor dog, but if I'm home, I usually have a door open so he can come and go outside.

I wouldn't leave him outside unattended if I'm not home. Most of my neighbors are Chinese...he could be "beef" and brocorri...

This

What is the point of a dog if he just stays outside? Like someone else said, that is like having a lawn gnome that you have to feed.

Because some dogs need something to do and would go crazy locked up inside. My dog is always chasing squirrels, lizards, rodents, bird, etc. She is so bored when we bring her in. Last night she killed an opossum and was really proud of herself. When I bring her in she sits at the door and whines. Her job is protect the yard and she likes it that way.

I do the same.

There's a stray boxer on Essen under I-10. Kick the homeless man when you pick him up.

Not disagreeing with any of this. I know alot of people who live more in the country and have outside only dogs that still play with them all the time because they are constantly out on their property doing stuff and the dog is their by their side. But the typical suburban family that lives in their neighborhood with their nice white fence and standard two labs in the backyard that they only deal with when they feed them seems pointless. Sure the dogs are fine and prolly happy, but what the hell is the point of buying them and owning them?

it's pretty common if you're white trash and live in a trailer park.
