That would be old momentum. It's one of the least things discussed in game breakdowns but at times it's the most important. If Copeland doesn't fumble, a TD there would have been deflating for Bama. Not only did that turnover take points off the board but it gave Bama momentum. The fake punt even though the team was in an alignment to protect against a fake was huge too. Welter blew that play big time. From that point on, it was all Tide.

Well, the D had stopped them on 3rd and 1, but the special teams didn't stop the fake punt, so technically, it wasn't the D that gave up the whole 7:50 minute drive.
