The QB competition at LSU.
- April 3, 2014 LSU held there annual spring an as a fan I was very eager to see the development of both Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris. By the end of the game Brandon Harris had managed to throw for 195 yards and rush for 75 yards with 4 total tds. Keep in mind Harris played with the second team offense for most of the game and was moved from one team to the other and still demonstrated that he was more than capable of running the offense. Jennings on the other hand thrown for 157 yards 1 td and 2 interception that where returned for TDs.

Duel winner: Brandon Harris

- September 6, LSU hosted the mighty Sam Houston State in what was just a well needed tune up for our team. This by far was Anthony Jennings best game as a tiger throwing for 188 yds (95 yards of those came from one throw) with 3 TDs all to Travin Dural his favorite target. Brandon Harris came in late in the game and picked up where he left off in the spring game. Harris threw for 62 yards on 5 attempts with a Td and also had a great 46 yard run for a TD.

Duel Winner: TIE (Both Qbs shredded a poor Sam Houston Defence with ease)

- September 20, 2014 LSU hosted the unranked but undeniable good MSU Bulldogs lead by the Louisiana native Dak Prescott. I watched the MSU team dismantle our team on both sides of the ball. Anthony Jennings struggled all game long throwing for 167 yards with a 50% completion rate. The tigers went down 34-10. Then #6 ran out onto the field. Which happened to be the only reason I decided to keep watching the game. Harris walked out onto the field and made an impact right away as I had watched in the spring game and the Sam Houston game and managed to give our Tiger Team a chance at the end of the game with a Hail Mary attempt which was intercepted. Harris managed to throw for 140 yards 2 tds and 1 pick (Hail Mary) all in less than a quarter of football.

Duel winner: Brandon Harris

- September 27, 2014 LSU hosted the New Mexico State Aggies in which the tigers where expected to dominate. Anthony Jennings walked on to the field as the starter with Brandon Harris breathing down his neck. Jennings played horribly as he completed 0 passes to our team anyway, 2 picks and one fumble. Miles was forced to put our freshman stud Brandon Harris in to get us out of the hole Anthony Jennings dug. And boy did Brandon Harris not disappoint. He led the tigers to a TD every drive he was under center throwing for 178 yards and three TDs on only 14 passing opportunities.

Duel winner: BRANDON HARRIS

- October 4, 2014 LSU went on the road to face a top ten team in Auburn. Les Miles was forced to start Brandon Harris because of his play in the past two games. I will be the first to admit Harris played less than stellar completing 3 of 14 passes for 58 yards. But before we bash the true freshman Harris, let’s take a look at the play calling. Drive #1 3 straight runs 3 and out. Harris did fumble a snap but come on people this is an 18 year old in a hostile environment expect miscues. Auburn went right down the field and kicked a field goal 3-0 Auburn. Drive #2 run for 8 yards, Harris first throw incomplete, run for 1 yard punt. Auburn got the ball and went straight down the field and scored. 10-0 Auburn. Drive #3 LSU rushed the ball 3 straight times and punted to Auburn. Auburn went right down the field and scored giving Auburn a 17-0 lead. Drive #4 LSU rushed the ball threw straight times for solid yards. Then Harris hooked up with Dupre on a 50 yard bomb. LSU punched it in as they were 2 yards away. 17-7 Auburn. Auburn received the kick and went right down the field and scored. 24-7 Auburn. Now at this point how many QBs do you know that are mentally strong enough to stay calm and not try and make too much happen after watching the opposing team score on every drive. At this point Les abandoned the game plan of running the ball nearly every play and asked Harris to duel it out vs the high scoring offense of Auburn. And the Auburn D knew by playing pass D. Long story short the true freshman crumbled under the pressure as expected. And Jennings entered the game and completed 5 of 10 balls for 84 yards and o yea he was playing against auburns backups and LSU scored 0 points with him leading the offense.

Duel Winner: TIE

- Since then Brandon Harris has not gotten another chance to prove he can lead our offense. By that I mean meaningful snaps, not with 3 minutes left against Kentucky. Instead he has watched our team score two TDS in the last THREE GAMES. O yea one of those TDs came on a drive which had some 10+runs and one pass at the one yard line. The only reason we have not gotten completely blown out in the last three game is because of 102,000 passionate fans making the opposing offenses night a living hell and a great defence that has only gotten better as the season has gone along.

I as a fan do not see what’s going on in practice but honestly it comes down to scoring points in the game and Jennings has had more than enough opportunities to prove he deserves to start and has done nothing to do so. Harris has played badly one night under the lights in his short career at LSU and some fans say he is worse than Jennings. It’s unbelievable how crazy some of you really are. Miles says that Jennings gives us the best opportunity to win???? I can only watch in disbelief as he says such crazy statements. He is telling our team and fans that 2 tds in three games is acceptable with a 5 star running back, receivers that are more than capable, and a hell of an o line. With a defence that we have if we hold an opponent under 21 we should win the game and I don’t give a damn who we are playing. With the offensive talent that this team has we should be lighting score boards up but our head coach is a lunatic and has rode this great state of Louisiana’s talent and a great defence to a great record. And has fooled many fans into thinking he is some sort of genius. Our team has run a 5th grade offense for many years now by running the ball 80% of the time. Now I love running the ball but without mixing in the pass and balancing the offense you will run it to 8-9 man fronts all game long. I can only shack my head when I watch Bama because the only the difference between them and us is COACHES. We have equal talent to Alabama and should be in the hunt for the national title every season no matter the youth or situation. As a fan I don’t cheer for Les Miles I cheer for the program. And when I watch a man who is pocketing 4.3 million dollars a year and struggles with things such as calling timeouts, speaking, developing qbs, etc. It makes me want to vomit. Now im not trying to say that if B Harris goes under center we are undefeated but it without a doubt would have given us a better chance to win. But with the coach we have it will be very difficult for our team to succeed because the play calling is so predictable and stupid. As I sit back and watch Zach Mettenberger, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckhem, Jeremy Hill, Alfred Blue, and James Wright make impacts in the NFL. It only confirms that the only reason we were successful last season on offense was because of superior talent. No matter how bad the play calling was these players where just BETTER than every D they played. So for all of you that scream that Miles is a genius you are just as crazy as he is. The man is a pure moron and he will continue to hold us back from greatness. Just like he holds Brandon Harris on the side lines while our offense puts 130 yards up on Arky.

Anthony Jennings is our horrible quarterback. It doesn't matter how many threads are written about it, nothing is going to change.

CLM has spoken if you have a problem give him a call and see what gibberish he tells you

I find it funny Harris knew the playbook for the spring game, but developed amnesia after Miles decides Jennings gives us the best chance at winning. I call bs on the Harris doesn't know the playbook excuse.

While he probably knows the book, it was the spring game dude. There's like 15 plays run during the spring game total with no blitzing.

The defense knew every single play and shut most of them down. Harris looked like crap with the 2nd team offense and after Jennings was picked by debo he was benched and Harris got to sling against a crappy defense. The spring game wasn't a good representation of the QBs because Harris went manziel mode a lot and the defense couldn't sack him/blitz.

Do you have a link? Been looking for it since it was taken down. And both throws were thrown softly into the flats against our fastest linebackers. Not necessarily a crappy D.

Eta: Jennings scored with the 2nd team too I believe.

Short story. Harris has shiwn tremendous potential in every outing except his first SEC road start against Auburn when the D was still playing terrible and we got down early.

Jennings has shiwn little to nothing.

Les Mikes logic. That means Jennings should be the starter.
