I don't wanna tank but I'll be extra pissed come draft time if we win the division with a losing record then lose in the 1st rd and draft in the 20's.

I don't want to give the impression that I support tanking. I don't one bit. I just don't care whether or not we win and whether TB/Car/Atl lose (though Atlanta losses are still hilarious, today's loss will likely be Smith's end, which hurts our future).

I feel like I'm one of the only ones here that would rather a shot at a stud player like Cooper (yes please), Schreff, or PJ Williams than go one and done in the playoffs. I get that fortunes can change in the playoffs (see: Giants twice, Packers), but does anyone really think that we can win the SB this year?
I'm with you. I don't think we are that good this year.

the defense is still pretty young, especially up front except for Bunkley.

not as much with the offense though.

I'm cool with whatever happens to be honest. If we turn it around somehow.. great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but if we keep playing inconsistent and miss the playoffs... nothing to be disappointed about considering how this year has gone.

besides the Green Bay game... this season hasn't been that much fun.

There are no truely dominant teams in the nfc this year. If we have 1 or 2 things bounce our way in the playoffs, we could get lucky and make it to the superbowl. Just get there and thats a success. Have a few more things bounce our way and we could win it

We already blew out Green Bay, so anything can happen, rite?

If we come out flat vs. Baltimore as we did vs. Cincinnati, I think this team is done for the year.

Anything can happen over one game. Over 4 games, not so much.

There's a difference between "make playoffs" and "have a home playoff game with the potential of a winnable 2nd round game at Philly or Dallas or Arizona".

You definitely want to make the playoffs given the scenario above.

We beat the Giants by like 40 points relatively late in the season that they went on to win the Super Bowl. And they didn't even get a home playoff game that year. I bet their fans were having similar conversations.

We definitely want to make the playoffs. We have a realistic road to at least the Divisional round (being less than 4 point underdog in every game) and perhaps even to the Conference Championship.

I'm really torn. My gut says draft because that's where you build your team to be a winner, but based on our spotty draft track record and ability to go on a playoff run, then I say playoffs.

If we had another team's scouting group, then I'd definitely go with the draft. I'm a draft junkie though, so there's my bias.

Depends who is coming out in the draft this year and you are never 100% on juniors so unless there are 10 senior studs I'll take the playoffs even though we look pretty rough right now it only takes 4 wins!

I think you and others are underrating our scouting department. We've had quite a few good picks, especially in the mid to late rounds. Even in the 1st, we hit on every other pick, which is better than it seems.

Our scouting departments for 1st-2nd rounds suck.

Win the wild card game and pick 28th or inside the top 10?

Chance at the super bowl > a top 10 pick.

Brees could get hurt on the 1st play from scrimmage next season. Give me Brees with a chance at a championship

We beat the crap out of the best team in the NFC. Hell, we might only need to win 1 road game to win it all

There's no team in the NFC we can't beat at home. And the current division leaders (Arizona, Dallas/Philly, Green Bay) don't exactly scare me, even if we have to go on the road.

You sure about that? Because I believe SF beat us at home.
