you know uptown where you have Cooter Brown's and then you have the levee right there, by the S. Carrollton St. Charles intersection? People were parking there for the po boy fest and NOLA meter maids ticketed them today for parking "within 50 feet of a railroad track"

never mind that the gravelled area is private property owned by the railroad itself

that's why people avoid NOLA and Uptown in particular

People avoid the best city in La. and one of the most unique cities in America and particularly avoid the most desirable area within that city? No kidding.

So I decided to read up on my Nola parking laws and found this:

LINK /

quote:

Parking within 50 feet of a railroad crossing

so it sounds like

quote:

within 50 feet of a railroad track

isnt a violation

no one avoids uptown.

But yes, I have parked there many times, that is bullshite. But can't complain too much if it is indeed against the law.

The law is 50 feet of a railroad CROSSING because obviously you don't want a car parallel parking where it could block the view of an oncoming train.

Don't expect any of the retards who work for the city of New Orleans to know the difference. Step one in their application process is proving you are functionally illiterate.

ok i should say it's less convenient than Lakeside Mall or wherever

but none of the significant NOLA suburbs have the ZAP! speed cameras, notorious meter maids, boots, etc.

also NOLA probably has someone as bad as Riverside Towing, but no one ever posts about them
