Microsoft replaced the head of its Xbox division and cut its prices. But a year on from the launches, Sony is still far ahead, and IHS, a market researcher, predicts it will stay that way. Still, the Xbox One now outsells the latest version of the Wii, and has done better than previous Xboxes.

I read that earlier. It was very short and didn't seem to have November info. They said the other day that Xbox has sold 10 million to retailers already, usually meaning they are close to 10 million. Most experts believe Xbox will win November and maybe even December with their exclusives although mcc issues may hurt that. It's very short sided to announce a winner now. PS3 got off to a bad start then slowly caught up.

For people older than 13 the great console wars have been over for a long time

Yep because hopefully a self respecting person over 13 has a gaming PC

I'm still lost on how this was titled a war. More like a middle school scuffle imo.

i thought it's a bit premature to call it as well. they're totally ignoring the wii u as well. i don't think it will catch the ps4 and xbox, but with the catalog of games coming for it, it will make it interesting

I honestly don't care if Sony sells 100 million more PS4's than Microsoft does XB1's. I'm thoroughly entertained enough.

I grabbed an Xbox One for Sunset Overdrive and Halo and already had a WiiU. Won't be getting a PS4 unless a game I really want to play comes out.

The initial "always on", licenses agreement (once disc used, GFY) and the Kinect combo requirement that uped the price really hurt the initial launch of the Xbox One.

I have both consoles and find pros and cons for both but enjoy both consoles because I enjoy video games. Not console circle jerks.

This won't happen for MS. They have NA, but Sony outsells them basically everywhere else worldwide. UK is the only other territory they may hold an advantage.

It really is a shame because their exclusives really do bitch slap the others.

It was over quite some time ago. The only real competitions left are PS4 vs X1 in the US and UK and PS4 vs Wii U in Japan. Every other major region isn't a contest.

Wii U has had a year head start and every major series in the Nintendo arsenal except for Zelda. It's already in last place. Nintendo just needs to hope to pass the Gamecube in sales.

Japan shouldn't count. What are the sales in the US?

i think everyone agrees at this point that Nintendo botched the wii u launch, but it is definitely picking up steam

It picks up steam then dies. I haven't seen any marketing for smash though. I hope it sells.
