I was on board with the hostage exchange scenario

I wasnt and dont think they should have been so ok with it. The part that frustrates me is how obvious everything was this episode. We all knew they would get attacked in the "evac here" zone, that the hostage plan would fail, that guy was up to no good, Preach was lookin to bail asap.

Rick swore not to let decisions like this come back and bite them in the arse. Its harsh and hard to handle but they needed to take out those cops and the hospital. At lease they know the orderlies could be a decent asset to the team.

BECAUSE TYRESE IS TURNING EVERYONE INTO BLEEDING HEARTS INSTEAD OF LETTING RICK DO HIS THANG AND KILL ANYTHING THAT MOVES.

I really thought they were going to set the tone with Rick and have him put a bullet between that cop's eyes.

Why does he want away from the group?

I don't know....it is strange.

They didn't show the Rick's group with the other cops, just the one that got away. So who knows what direction they will go for the mid season finale??

One thing that struck me as really strange was Beth asking the Doc what to give Carol? Really??? After it was proven she already gave one dude the wrong stuff to kill him, she's gonna trust the Doc again all the sudden??

I think this is a new theme they are setting up. Rick want's to say frick it and kill everything, but Tyrese and the others think otherwise. But each time Rick has been right.

When they escaped Terminus, Rick wanted to go back and kill everyone. They didn't and the leftover Termites killed Bob and tried to kill the whole group.

Last night, Rick wanted to go in the hospital and kill everyone. The group votes for the hostage exchange, and it didn't work.

The Termites didn't kill Bob, they just ate him.

But I do agree that they need to start listening to Rick. I like take-control Badass Rick much better than Farmer Rick who can't seem to take make a decision on things.

I was wondering why Gabriel felt compelled to 'escape' out of the church instead of just leaving

Since Abe probably won't give a frick about anything anymore, perhaps Rick, Michone, Abe and Rosita should cut out on their own. Maybe include Carol if she makes it. Darryl is getting iffy on his bad-assedness.

Only 12 pages this far after the show? Seems like this episode kind of underwhelmed.

I was wondering about that, but if you check other sources this episode was ranked around a 7 or 8...I guess most people went into this episode expecting a pre-midseason-finale, which normally just sets up the plot for the midseason finale

Well there hasn't been a "Spoiler!"/"That's not really a spoiler" argument which takes up several pages. At least not yet.

I'm about 12 minutes into the episode, and all I can say so far is: Beth's stitches are the most fricked up stitches I've ever seen.

I think that he was just overwhelmed to the point of losing it. Remember that he is pretty much a virgin to the violence of the ZA. He'll get a big dose of reality on his little excursion, and then I think we'll see his character take a turn.

The people on this show are the most gullible, naive, non-lesson-learning sons of bitches I've ever seen. All this time, and they still continue to trust strangers. . . Frick!

That's a good point. Those arguments do tend to fluff up an episode thread.

I've been lurking these threads for a while. You guys catch stuff that I never get. I had to go back a watch a few episodes because I missed some of the things.

Any idea why Darryl is turning soft? He should have let Rick smoke that guy. Did Carol and Darryl make some sort of agreement not to be bad asses anymore?

Yeah. It would be pretty boring, though, if they just avoided others or killed them as soon as they crossed their path.

I think all of the characters go through their hippy phase.

Daryl's original badassery was a façade. He was covering up the insecurities and shame he was carrying with him as a result of his shitty childhood. Over the course of the show, however, he has begun to develop some genuine self-esteem and to begin building a true identity for himself. I think he values humanity more now because of that. Like Rick, he will be a real badass once he fully evolves. We saw Carol go through the same thing in seasons 3 and 4.

I don't think that hit on sasha would have knocked her cold.

Rick needs to realize it's better to apologize than ask permission. Too much has been lost by giving chances to people who inteded harm.

My vote would have been to kill them, let them turn and thats how I would have delivered them back. After I stole their protective gear.
