White cops. Do you really think we would have seen this kind of backlash if the cop would have been black? I didn't think so.

You keep saying this as if it proves something

because the only reason we're talking about the killing of balck males is due to that being a national topic via mike brown

quote:

It's only a national topic because people like Giuliani bring it up as a red herring.

black killings?

quote:

That is a fair point. I wish people would stick to that one.

well, between national outrages over outlier black killings by white people of course, we get called racists if we do

and i've said on here many times that's it's not even a "black people" problem. it's a young black male problem. this is called something like the "3.5% problem", because that small of a % of the population is responsible for about HALF the murders in the country

and that problem is what leads to a bunch of other problems that affect black people in the US, including the very stuff that the ferguson people are protesting. also the difference in how teh WOD treats urban blacks and everyone else. THAT is the big issue

Big Scrub,

Here's a link to some info I was able to find. A couple of things; first, according to this source blacks commit crimes against whites at a rate which is 50X higher than the other way around.

In the body of this article, it is stated that blacks murder whites at a rate which is 18X higher than the other way around.

I had seen the 20X rate a few years ago. I should have qualified my earlier rate by using the word "approximately," but 18X is a huge discrepancy.

Edit - I forgot to add the link.

but why aren't we talking about the fact that over 80% of white murder victims are killed by other whites?

Yea, domestic violence is a problem.

But that ignores the falsity of your "point": this isn't just a "white person killing a black person". It's the cops. If you can't understand the rightful rage many blacks have against the cops, then I don't know what to tell you.

You can't be that obtuse. There are homicides committed by cops everywhere around this country. Tell me why this particular one has caused riots?

I'll give you a little while to think about it.

I can't say that I've done the research, but there have been numerous articles in the New Orleans Times Picayune addressing the reason there are not more blacks in the NOPD. Reason #1 and #2 not even close, is that they can't pass the basic entrance requirements, and those have been dumbed down at least twice. And the NOPD has a significant number of black officers last figures I have seen.

True story. Ten years ago I was stopped in downtown Shreveport by a young black cop. Violation: Not wearing my seat belt. I was pissed since wearing a seat belt is my own damned business.

But I was amazed at his reaction. He asked for my license and registration. He kept staring at them. Like it was a puzzle. After watching him for 10 minutes I realized 'this guy can't read nor write.' He was totally illiterate. I spelled out my name for him letter by letter very slowly. He had a lot of trouble with letters. I read him my DL numbers very slowly. He tried repeating what I said and I had to say "No, it's not that...it's this."

Aff action is just great.
