For our fashionistas, I found this site this morning while looking for a local or regional tailor. One of the best built pieces of clothing I have is an overcoat that was handed down to me from a great uncle who was stupidly successful, he had this coat made in San Francisco by a chinaman (according to the personalized tag).

So I'm sick of buying overpriced cheaply made shite from Asian sweatshops that never meets my standards or tastes 100% I think we can get better quality for just as much money and sometimes less, and I want to see old haberdasheries re-surge as locally sourced and hand crafted items are becoming highly sought.

Take a moment and check this site out if you're looking for a suit that's 100% your own style. Made in India, surely at a sweatshop.

There are a couple of similar sites out there, Indochino being a popular one.

It's worth taking a flyer on one to try it out, at least that's what I'm telling myself.

If mine comes in well made, I think I may look into creating a service for men in my area similar to what you find in bigger cities where shops will send a person out to your office or home with swatches and a measuring tape and do a fitting and custom order your choices.

I could arbitrage those prices for a decent profit, comparable services charge no less than $1200 for a tailored suit and typically they're $2500 and up.

Go ahead and spring for one and let me know how it turns out. That thing will be a thin unshapely piece of shite.

I tend to agree.

If you want a custom suit, there really only two roads to travel down:

1) Spend a good amount of money for a good, name brand.

2) Spend a little bit of money on a custom made by a Asian guy that is kinda hard to find in town.

Thanks for the heads up, but that'd require me going to NOLA.

anything involving NOLA is something I'd rather just say no to. :)

I will check that out however.
