If the Rockets didn't trade Lowry, they wouldn't have gotten James Harden.
That's really all there is to know about the Lowry trade. I would love to still have Lowry on the team, but it worked out better.

The counter to that is had they hired a coach that could have worked with Lowry they might not have needed harden.
Toronto found a way to turn Lowry around, so it was possible. Of course I have the benefit of hindsight so it is tough to be too critical of the trade.
If the rockets don't make a legitimate run at the WCF they will probably Fire mchale. So the net is Harden and Howard, a bad cap situation, a fired coach and the rep of underachievement.
My issue is morey makes moves, then more moves to fix his moves and then more moves to fix those moves. One thing about their roster now is he is just about out of moves

If they can trade fort a big and get some consistency groom Ross, they will become a true title contender.

Kyle Lowry and Demar are easily all star caliber players surrounded by quality complimentary players

Did you watch them last year? THey were a year away last year. I havent watched them at all this year and dont know their record. But if they make the east finals i wouldnt be surprised

Meh, they're good, but definitely not as good as their record.
They've only played 3 road games, and haven't played a tough schedule to date(only played 2 teams above .500 I believe).
They'll get their chance to prove themselves though

That makes no sense. They don't have a bad cap situation at all...
What makes you think that?

Toronto has had a soft schedule thus far though.
Miami and Chicago pretty much are the only 2 legit teams (before Wade, and Chicago's entire team caught the injury bug anyways) they've played this year.
They play Cleveland tonight.

Looking at their roster, their level of play just doesn't seem to correlate. They legitimately look like the best team in basketball at times.
If you didn't think they were seriously good, you weren't paying much attention- they closed last year 41-21 after the Gay trade. They've played good basketball for a while; throw in playing in a garbage conference, and they're going to have a very good record.
What do you expect the roster for one of the best teams in basketball to look like?
A superstar that handles the ball in crunch time situations?
Check.
A scorer who takes pressure offensively off the star?
Check.
A rotation of passable bigs that rebound, play defense, and grit out tough minutes?
*
Check.
Sound coach?
Check.
A former near-all star level performer who is reconstructing their career after a major injury?
Check.
I swear half the people who talk about the NBA don't actually watch the NBA....

Wouldn't classify Dwyane Casey as a "sound coach". If you think that, you should read the Raptors forums on RealGM

Oh, he pisses off Raptors fans to no end, no doubt. Still, in a league where Byron Scott has been employed multiple times, and Jason Kidd can job hop as a commodity, solid isn't a high bar.
