And if not, how so they differ?

Parents are hardcore neocons. They believe America is a Christian nation founded to spread the word of Jesus. The irony is lost on them when they complain about Muslims and the like in America. When I bring up the first amendment, Dad says its because the founding fathers didn't expect Muslims to exist or be a factor, so freedom of religion doesn't apply to them. Mom told me I would have been a hippie in the 60s.

My parents are more in the Christian Coalition/Tea Party subset, although they've certainly come around to some more libertarian thinking in recent years.

No. My parents are pretty much the standard definition of Republicans.

Not exactly. My mother is not what you would call a fiscal conservative on political issues (which is weird because she is tight IRL). Dad is dead so I guess he would qualify as a democrat in Louisiana.

Parents are "Old South" conservative. I travel around the world and am more of a Realist.

You get a whole different take on social welfare when you see the slums next to the airport in Bombay.

Pretty sure India was a government controlled economy until the 90s.

This for mine as well.

They're decently libertarian on fiscal issues. They're still on the wrong side of social issues like opposing gay marriage and supporting the WOD but for the past several years its not been really important to them and they couldn't care less about it as they do see an undesirable establishment leadership for republicans on fiscal issues.

No. I'm relatively conservative but I am liberal on a few social issues like gay marriage. One time I told my parents our country wasn't founded based on Christianity and my mom told me I need to "Get right with God"

You want to see worthless people, visit the French side of St Maarten. The dutch side call them such bad names, the N word would be a compliment.

Republican dad who's a CPA and Financial Advisor. Democrat mom who's a retired Orleans Parish school teacher and member of UTNO. Both are moderate and they usually vote the same. I'd say I'm about the same, except with no party affiliation.

I understand India is poor as frick today and that many people there are living in slums and shanties, but it's important to know why.
