I'm so sick of hearing this excuse brought up every time there's a debate in politics. Latest example is that Obama is using the kids as an excuse to keep the ILLEGAL parents here, but in the mean time Social Services has no problem whatsoever with taking children away from actual citizens if they commit a crime and in some crimes that are lesser than what some of these illegals are committing all over the country. Why are the illegals held to a lesser standard when they to are committing crimes by being in this country illegally?! I fricking hate it when dipshit politicians use kids as an excuse to back up an argument, especially when its a hypocritical point.

To be fair, there is a difference between taking a child away from abusive parents and taking a child away from immigrant parents. One situation is beneficial to the child, while the other only benefits the state.

The war on drugs has thrived for decades on this very argument, think of the children, but thankfully it's showing great signs of losing steam with the example that weed is becoming more and more accepted.
