If Brady Hoke is going to be fired by the University of Michigan, he should hope it acts quickly.

The move could be worth $1 million to him.

Under the terms of his contract, Hoke would be owed a buyout payment of $3 million if he gets fired without cause through Dec. 31, the final day of his contract year. If he gets fired after Dec. 31, the buyout payment would drop to $2 million.

That extra million would be especially nice for Hoke because his contract is not fully guaranteed. That means getting fired would cost Hoke the chance to earn the minimum of $7.8 million he would earn if he were to complete his initial six-year term.

They aren't going to wait that long to fire him if they know they want to fire him.

1 million to Michigan shouldn't be enough to sway them to wait and lose out on coaching candidates.

They will if they already have an agreement in place with his replacement. If you see a big name declining other good jobs, it would create tons of speculation. He should have been told already, but there are no reports. Harbaugh is going to be mentioned a million times until it becomes clear on either side.

If Michigan has an under the table deal, I hope they get burned.

Why do people talk about this crap? No coach sits around thinking I hope they fire me so I can get free money. He'll probably get another job, and Michigan will probably only have to pay the difference between his new contract and his old one.

They are going to fire him, no doubt, but he is already a millionaire.

Me thinks your math is off.

$3 million before Jan 1.

$2 million after.

=$1 million reasons.

Michigan's lawyers are better than Hokes. Feilding a shitty team is a pretty good "cause"

I have talked to a recruits family and they have said that Brady Hoke is a class act and does nothing but give every kid a chance to prove himself and is very fair.
They also said there is issues with the university admin and a rumor that went around is someone in Michigan isn't a huge fan of the black football players

What is your title at that high finance company you work at?

(or perhaps english is your second language...if that is the case never mind)

Also, I love the specificity of "a rumor went around" about how "someone" didn't like "black football players"

Buyouts are so stupid. They never stop either side from getting what they want.

I had no idea the grammar police were patrolling this board!
My position is an associate at the moment. If you have been on the money talk board everyone on there makes at least six figures and got a perfect gmat score excluding me. While I am considered a "failure and reject" on this website because I am not on the board of directors at JP Morgan. I like the person I see in the mirror and proud of what I have worked for.

English is my first language;however, I went through a rapping stage and learned Ebonics.

This was a rumor that was relayed back to me during someones time at a camp. University of Michigan alumni have a bad reputation of being conceited so I will let you do the math.

I am sure the whole college football nation will say that on December 6th. I am sure Urban will rustle many Jimmies in the big ten because he did not sign the Big Ten gentleman's agreement.
