I have no idea I think he was at some awards show, maybe someone was asking him about Game of Thrones or something.

So is this him attempting to say Prometheus wasn't an "Alien" movie? They keep flopping around on this ie same "universe" but not same movie series as if I believe that. I think its because they want leeway for putting out a stinker of a mess of a movie. Thanks Lindelhoffersnoogan you bastard.

I've read other interviews where he said the sequel is supposed to deviate even further from the Alien movies. I'm hoping this is another clusterfrick of a movie.

He either needs to make a real prequel to Alien or just let it go because, without the implied hook, there is just not enough there to keep the Prometheus story going.

Bingo. And honestly, it would've been a better movie if they wouldn't have tried/not tried/avoided the Alien issue. I spent the whole movie trying to figure out references.
