WASHINGTON — Millions of undocumented immigrants who are set to be granted a form of legal status by President Obama as early as this week will not receive one key benefit: government subsidies for health care available under the Affordable Care Act. Mr. Obama is preparing to use his executive authority to provide work permits for up to five million people who are in the United States illegally, and to shield them from deportation. But an official familiar with the administration’s deliberations said on Tuesday that such people would not be eligible for subsidized, low-cost plans from the government’s health insurance marketplace, HealthCare.gov.

Yeah Right

"Officially" they won't receive them.

However, the exchange websites are such a clusterfrick that you could have a yes no question regarding subsidy eligibility and it would still disregard the answer.

At best, they get the subsidy on the front end then get an anal probe by the IRS. Won't happen though because the IRS won't follow up on it.

It won't bother me at all if they get them. Hell, at least they work and show up every day. They don't bring their home life drama with them. I say give them all amnesty.

Here is a serious question. What specific laws, if any, will he be breaking by unilaterally giving amnesty?

Annnddddd....what if the hospital they show up at actually wants to be paid something? Is the EO going to forbid hositals from getting illegals to fill out MCD applications? Particularly L&D units in border areas, where a new American citizen is born every few minutes. Is the EO going to stop those mommas from getting MCD?

Is the EO going to overrule EMTALA for undocumented immigrants?

Why would he need to order something that already exists and is readily available?

The good part about Obama's little empire crumbling around him is that we get to see his real identity. Can't wait to watch him single-handedly ruin the D's for the next several years. This is sure to lose the black vote in this country and if Rand doesn't exploit this very issue, I'll be very disappointed.

Sorry to ruin it for you upgray, but his 95% would sadly follow him without question even if he decided to invade hell.

None, he is simply not enforcing the law.

Here is the BIG ISSUE...

The president cannot make a new beneficiary class of people. What was leaked to the NYTimes is that the president wants to grant a new category of legal working documents to parents of dreamers. There is zero legal basis for this because only the legislative branch can create these laws and the Supreme Court will strike that part down.

It's possible but I think with the right delivery it could be very effective.

None. Just like when a Reagan and Bush did it and it wasn't breaking any law.

They granted amnesty for family members not covered by the amnesty bill. Obama is granting amnesty of family members of citizens.

So they will be granted amnesty, they will still work for cash and not pay any taxes, they will still go to the hospital can receive care because they can't be denied. That will in turn increase the cost of healthcare because the hospital had to makeup that loss somewhere, so it's rolled to the people who do pay.
Additionally their kids will be able to live off the social system, they refuse to use any form of contraceptives because Catholic, and they reproduce like rats.

We are screwed. I'll bet he gives them access to healthcare and other social systems before it's over with.

Not true. There is precedence:

From my link:

Nearly three decades ago, there was barely a peep when Reagan and Bush used their authority to extend amnesty to the spouses and minor children of immigrants covered by the 1986 law.

In 1986, Congress and Reagan enacted a sweeping overhaul that gave legal status to up to 3 million immigrants without authorization to be in the country, if they had come to the U.S. before 1982. Spouses and children who could not meet that test did not qualify, which incited protests that the new law was breaking up families.

Early efforts in Congress to amend the law to cover family members failed. In 1987, Reagan's Immigration and Naturalization Service commissioner announced that minor children of parents granted amnesty by the law would get protection from deportation.

Emergency rooms will still be forced to take them. They cannot be turned away. People will subsidize them the same way we always have with a hidden tax via higher insurance premiums.
