Miss Piggy falls short on delivering 60 votes on Keystone. Dems basically tell her to frick off.

Why isn't the nuclear option in play here? Also yeah now that the runoff is not going to decide the senate they dems are protecting their own arses.

Yeah, Reid, Pelosi, Boehner and McConnell all need to go, or at least lose their leadership positions.
I'd rather have Elizabeth Warren and Rand Paul running the two parties. At least they seem ballsy. The other four seem to just be constantly posturing.

Only applies to judicial and executive appointments.

I believe it only applies to Executive Branch appointments. If not, you need 60 votes for cloture.

I agree. I honestly think increasing their salaries would help a great deal. If I'm a smart guy off doing something I love and making good money, I'm not jumping into politics.
I think you either increase their pay to the point that successful people want to jump in, or decrease the pay to around $50,000 a year, so that you have to really want to serve to do it. It's just an idea I have. I have no idea if it would work.

Dems already lost the Senate, they don't care about Mary.
They'll take care of her anyway. She have some nice lobbyist job not to far from her home in D.C. by the end of the week after her loss.
