It seems like we live in a bizzaro world where Israel is basically this chilled out neighbor if you leave them alone, yet every 6 months or so they start getting rockets launched at their civilians' homes, suffer a disco bombing, or now a machete attack in the sanctuary of a Temple.

Now they will (justifiably) avenge those deaths, the Muslims will cry foul and step up their attacks, and the detente will end until public outcry forces Israel to slow their roll and "allow the poor Palestinians to live in peace".

So sick of this retarded cycle. So the question - has Israel ever started this shite?

Well at the very least can we get even the pro-Palestine people to admit that THEY started this and that THEY started the rocket attacks 6 months ago?

Or do they revert to the double speak of "Israel oppressing and violating blah blah blah".

You can reasonably argue that Israel was provoked or even justified in 1967 but you can't argue who launched the surprise attack that destroyed the Egyptian air force on the ground.

I don't think anyone would deny that Israel initiated combat operations in 1956 and 1967. What people argue over is whether Israel had legitimate cause to initiate combat.

In both 1956 and 1967 the Egyptians acted in manners that were hostile to Israel, but were short of armed conflict. Israel reacted to those hostile acts with armed force.

No, never. Therefore, continue to give your hard-earned money to them to help protect them from the evil slum dwellers.

Israel is rarely the true aggressor. But Israel also takes action knowing it will lead to further provocation.

Nonetheless, the way the media handled the overnight news of the slaughter is abhorrent and should offend even ardent Israel critics.

Kind of proves my point. Unless you read Drudge or watch Fox News you haven't heard of what happened. It's bullshite.

And all of you guys citing shite from the 1950's and 1960's - I clearly specified within the last 5 to 10 years. Can anybody name an instance where Israel has blatantly started a period of violence with acts or terrorism or overt military aggression? My thesis is that it is quite literally ALWAYS the Palestinians / Muslims.

Your thesis is not plausible.

Well I'd have to say, I totally missed that specification.

In the last 5-10?
No. Israel has been on the receiving end far far far more often.
Not universally, i.e., West Bank issues; but in the vast majority of instances, they been in a defensive role. Looking at the last 5-10 yrs is naive IMO, though.

This is an oversimplified way of looking at it, but I see the point you're making.

I'll be home in a bit and respond.

Or I'll be playing XBox cause what we discuss here doesn't affect anything.
