Any of you Chicago folk experience hell getting into the Loop today?

What a cluster frick.
A bus caught on fire on Lakeshore. Closed Lakeshore and there was massive traffic everywhere inland.
There was also a fire between Armitage and Sedgwick that caused massive delays on the Brown Line (didn't go past Armitage) and Purple Line trains were suspended.
Red Line was just packed and Brown Lines were rerouted onto the Red Line tracks.
Chicago at its finest.

I manned up and walked to work in the loop today, about a mile and a half. All my coworkers were relating their hellish commutes while I enjoyed a leisurely stroll in the -5 wind chill. Didn't know about the fires until people started filing in late.

I get to work earlier than most so I missed it all.
I also take the Blue Line so I would have been good to go regardless.
