Just looking for helpful tips. Honda Accord 2008. Just wondering if it is easier to change the battery myself or do I need to go to a dealer.

Any help is appreciated!

Where might one get a battery ASAP?

Just about anywhere. Autozone, Walmart, most grocery store's battery sections.

Your nearest drugstore.. Pop off the cover to find out which battery size and to change it.

I guess instructions are pretty prevalent on the interwebs so I'll check that out. Thanks!

All you do is pop the thing open with a small flathead screw driver or other flat instrument (I've used coins, folded paper clips, etc), pull out the old battery, and put the new one in, and snap it back together.

ETA: Here is a video on how to do it.

Change the battery. You likely need a watch battery - CR2032 or 2025. Just pop it open with a nickle or dime (there is most likely a slot for some device to pry open the FOB). Just snaps back together. Entire task (minus running to CVS to get the battery) will take about 30 seconds.

if it's anything like my tundra, it's a simple battery replacement. Nickle sized battery you can buy anywhere.

problem is, sometimes they lose the programming and have to be reprogrammed.

do NOT go to the dealer for the programming. Most locksmiths can do it.

Do one better, google the steps and do it yourself. Never has taken more than a minute or two to program a new fob.

Isn't there a battery store on College across from GameZone or whatever?
