I mistakingly updated my ipad mini 1..hopefully this will help

also, is there a big difference bw the mini 1 and mini 2? I can probably sell mine for $150 and buy a 2 for $250, worth the upgrade?

Just done installing on my iPad 2. We'll see how it goes as my Safari kept locking up mid post anytime you pressed backspace too many times. I found myself literally setting my iPad down and just picking up my iPhone anytime I wanted to input something or send an email or post here.

Had me thinking I needed an iPad Mini Retina...which I still may pull the trigger on based on Black Friday sales...

I think I'll wait to find out if you and others that have an Ipad 2 have any more to say on performance. I'm still on iOS 7.

I checked ebay and CL earlier this week. You can probably get $200 for an ipad mini. Just got Aa refurb ipad 2 retina off of Apple website for $250 thanks to this board.

That's cool. My older iPads are running smoother. Less stutter when I scroll fast through photo stream or FB.

My iPad 2 doesn't seem to be any better. Still sucks. No more Apple for me.

Do not update if you plan to jailbreak. It will likely be a while before 8.1.1 is exploited based on all reports for those who tested the beta.

I have a 5s and after the update last night it is running so much better. No lag in Safari anymore and copy/paste is back to normal. I was also having some bluetooth/car audio issues and those seem to be gone now too.

You're updating a 4 year old device. What other company makes a tablet that even gets updates 4 years after release, much less one that works well? There aren't any 4 year old Surface Pros to say Microsoft even would, but that's the only other potential option at this point.

Well I was getting off the Apple ecosystem anyway. But I have noticed on all apple updates, efficiency gets worse and worse.

So you don't have a problem with taking a perfectly good ipad 2 and turning it into mush with the update to 8.0?
