Is it true, does it matter, what does it mean?

As an out-of-state fan, I listen to a fair amount of BR radio, read a fair amount of BR reports/twitter, etc - and I'm hearing so much that "people close to the program/in the building" say:

Harris leaves as soon as practice is done, AJ stays and works with film/receivers

Harris hasn't worked to learn the playbook

You get the idea.

It's getting harder to ignore this narrative, as it is consistently being reported.

The job is there for the taking, what does it say about Harris if he can't man-up and win the job?

I don't know anything about the young man's attitude, but if any of that is true, it shows that our coaches know what they are doing

I've heard all of that stuff in here but haven't heard it anywhere else. If it is true then it's just sad and we probably have missed again on a recruit bc like you say it's right there for the taking. I tend to believe it's likely false and just an excuse to try to smother the fire under the " play HARRIS" crowd.

It's all speculation and it's complete BS in my opinion.

Someone presents a theory....then the next 20 people say "they heard it."

Jennings puts in all the extra work and reps and still can't produce. I say frick it, try Harris anyway.

Threads like this need to be deleted. Why try and throw a kid under the bus who is not playing and doesn't know why.

well "they heard it" from apparent "insiders" that write about LSU

so I don't know

either its the LSU staff leaking this to LSU writers to motivate Harris, or its them to just give an excuse to not play Harris

Not everything is published on the internet in nice, concise spots.

Lots of radio talk, no link there.

FWIW, the 104.5 morning show had a good rant on this topic, you can listen to their podcast. Hour 1.

And Winston at FSU is mature? Harris can hand the ball off AND he is a "baller" who can put the Tigers on top! Just say'n! He should start at TAMU or come into the game no later than the 2nd series. What's clear: AJ, a good guy, is not the future, esp. in the SEC! Nothing could be more important, at this point, than a Harris-led victory against the Aggies and, then, in a bowl game.

I'll bet the Miles camp and the Les lovers inside the football operations building are leaking it out just so that I will look like Les made the right decision by sticking with Jennings all this time. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

Media is not allowed at practice, most players don't talk to the media during the week, so how in the hell would they know? QB is a complex position to learn, and by us not having an offensive identity, there is a lot to learn. Under center formations, shotgun formations, pistol formations. Jennings might have a better grasp of the offense, but I think the playbook is too complicated for college kids.

Or maybe he already has learned to hand off left / handoff right / pitch dive and lob pass...

Maybe it just takes AJ a lot longer to understand all those plays..

Compare AJ's field presence with that of Matt Mauk. AJ operates in the Twilight Zone - disconnected from the team. Mauk was totally immersed in the game and his mission. The results speak for themselves.

I can see an argument here. But, if I were the coach, it would be difficult to reward such behavior.

If it's true.

what leads you to believe it's false? has he looked prepared when he's had his chances?

Jennings has lost the job, the coaches just refuse to replace him.

I'm sick of hearing, "but Auburn..." Did everyone forget that Jennings replaced Harris in that Auburn game and did absolutely nothing as well? Have the "but Auburn" crowd not watched this LSU offense score 10, 13, and 0 points respectively in the last 12 quarters plus an overtime series? LSU is lucky they are 1-2 in those three games and not 0-3.
