I'll start by saying it, I like Miles. He's a character. He's funny. He's loyal. He's got a track record of overwhelming success.
I think we are lucky to have him here, just as we were lucky to have Saban when he was. Right now everyone is upset and angry because we've lost four games, but we've also won some great ones. Keep everything in perspective, folks. You win some and lose some, but we win a LOT more than we lose.
I hope Miles is our coach for years to come.

agree to a point, but the rant is not going to let him stay, the offense isn't flashy enough for the youngsters....so in rant nation "he gone"

I'm happy the rant are just fans then.

I respectfully disagree. Looking at his age and his non existing coaching skills he should resign as head coach and stay on as recruiting coordinator.

2015 has to be a great year.

I think it will be. So does anyone and everyone else.

IMHO, he will be the LSU coach for years to come.

Too bad his body of work can't recruit and develop a QB.

I agree with you. Les can be frustrating and he often seems hardheaded (though there are probably reasons for this that we aren't aware of). The Rant is the Rant. Mainly people who have never been happy with Les spouting off when they do not have the complete facts. But then this is a fan site and fans aren't known for their rationality.

During football season I spend a few hours a week reading opinions and looking for info on here, but the Rant following the Auburn loss and the Arkansas loss now is just toxic. There's no logic to the fire Miles crowd, very little perspective, and no appreciation. I think I understand the term "Rantard" now....

I agree with you to a point.
I like Miles, I honestly do. He's a cool guy, I've met him a few times and he's great.
That being said, his in game management makes me want to rip my hair out sometimes.
I'm not annoyed that we have lost 4 games. It's the way we lost those last two. I understand that we are a young team but that has been turned around, at least defensively, for the better.
We beat #3 Ole Miss and went toe to toe with Alabama, we should've won that game and then we play a team whose last SEC win was almost two years ago and on top of that, against Kentucky.
There are very little game adjustments, if any. Maybe subtle ones that most fans don't see but to stick with what isn't working, for the entire game-it's shades of 1/9, and I hate to bring that up but it's true.
I wish he'd stop being so stubborn at times.
If nothing else, take Jennings out so he doesn't catch all this stuff from the fans, like he is now. Don't blame Jennings, blame the guy that kept putting him out there.
And why limit a two time winner of Athlete of the year, #1 recruit in Fournette to just 5 carries?
I don't understand.

Birdman,
I agree with everything you've written above, and im no less frustrated by any of it. I don't think it means we need to change our whole brand.

Me either. I like us running the ball and running over people. I don't want us to turn into a big air raid team like Baylor or West Virginia.
But you need a decent passing game, which we don't currently have. Not a knock on Jennings, the kid tries his hardest and puts everything he has into it.
When everyone knows what's coming, that's a problem. Predictability.
Anyway, enough of that. It's just frustrating at times. I'll always cheer for our boys though.

The only rational explanation is that Les has gone full retard.
Why else would he choose to ignore that what he is supposed to be doing is winning football games. Instead he stubbornly refuses to deviate from some 1960s era offensive game plan that he will make work or die trying no matter how dismally his prospects for success develop upon that path. If not for coach Chavis and his recruiting staff he would be sitting in a TV commentator's chair spouting comical nonsense that would serve to harmlessly amuse sports fans without embarrassing any particular university. Really, that is where he belongs. After all, Lee Corso has to retire someday.
But, Hell, I love the guy. It's just that the game of football has passed him by. His only hope for success going forward as an NCAA head football coach is to turn the game over to his coordinators and enjoy the ride, because when he insists upon no deviation from his game plan only heartache is created for the team, the position coaches, the university and the fans. The sooner he understands that this is about winning and not about him and his archaic football theories, the sooner the offense begins to hold up its end of the bargain.
