Jennings Appreciation Thread

In the 2013 spring game, we all thought Jennings was going to be terrific. Some even suggested he should start over Mettenberger. Jennings had confidence in his abilities coming out of high school. He received great reviews from his teammates who thought he could be the QB of the future and would most certainly succeed.
In limited action against Arkansas, Jennings showed that he could be clutch in big moments, he was then was put under pressure against Iowa where he performed poorly.
At the beginning of this season, we saw some progression from him with being able to manage the game well enough to win. Most notably his passes had more power and he seemed more confident in his knowledge of the offense.
Against Miss. State, Jennings was completely exposed by an experienced defense. Then against NMSU Jennings felt the need to make plays which ended up with him turning the ball over. Jennings' starting QB job was lost to Brandon Harris who also stunk up the place with abysmal quarterback play.
How are we to say that Brandon Harris' confidence has been ruined when it was Jennings' job that was taken from him?
Anthony is our best shot at winning right now. If this team were to mirror the fanbase, this season would've been over a long time ago.
It's time we as fans step up and show the coaching staff and players that we still believe in them and that we are thankful for their effort and contributions no matter how badly they play.

Support players absolutely!
Support Coaches? Not so much
I for one am tired of giving them passes when we see the same crap over and over again. I never thought I would witness another 1/9 but guess what, we just did

I don't have a problem with Jennings. Just the coaches and the gameplan that has set him up for failure.

Not many qbs could succeed in that gameplan, with the absolute refusal to quit running up the gut out of I form double tight, and asking him to bail the team out over and over.

As a former defensive player I can tell you the most obvious trait I (and any defensive player he goes against)see: fear! He panics way too much to make it as a big time QB. How many times this year has he run back from the line of scrimmage, only to crumple to the ground when the rush catches him. The SEC requires QB's who are not afraid to get hit.

It's not Jennings. It's our offensive gameplan. We make it as hard as possible for a qb to thrive and develop rhythm and confidence.

Jennings can't bench himself. But Les can. And he kept trotting him out there, setting AJ up for failure. So frick Les

I won't comment on his being our "best shot" or his abilities or any of that.
I will commend him for playing hard last night and all year. It would appear that he was the only one on offense that actually gave a third of a shite last night. The effort elsewhere on the field on offense and on the sidelines was absolutely atrocious.

Negative. I think most of the optimism after the 2013 spring game was due to 2 things
1. Our defense was not very good
2. He looked 10000 X better than hayden rettig
Now everyone blames him, is he supposed to bench himself. He goes out there and tries but our lack of imagination on offense and his lack of talent makes for what you saw last night. Harris started a huge game against auburn and layed a complete egg in this offense. We had 3 losses before last night, none as bad as the bama loss which oddly enough was due to horrible coaching and not the offense. Its been evident all year this offense is terrible, and most people here rather bitch about people being "negative", than be rational humans. When that occurs, all these always positive people witness last night and go fully retarded while letting go of all the shame they have for denying the truth for so long.
Jmo, of course

He's been taught to do that. Instead of scrambling he tries to buy time. He's begun to be more decisive with his scrambling abilities and decisiveness.

Not a troll. I thought at the beginning of the season if we could combine Brandon's physical talent and confidence with Jennings' knowledge we would be fine at QB.

You mean like genetically splicing them together to create Leslie's dream QB? Good luck with that. Shame they couldn't make that happen before week 1.
