I quickly put together these stats so they may not be perfect but The Hat in the last 3 years (2 games remaining including a bowl game) has not looked so shiny

Record 27 - 10 73%
SEC Record - 14 - 9 61%
Record against ranked teams 8 - 7 53%
Record against top 10 teams 3 - 6 33%
Record against top 5 teams 2 - 4 33%

That coupled with undisciplined play, clock management issues, giving Arkansas its first SEC when in forever by not even scoring a point, etc etc etc.

The Hat can't continue to live in the past and neither can Tiger Fans.

You need to post that in your title so that we can bump it each week.

Should any Power 5 team really get credit for beating FCS or weak mid-majors? Another argument for another day.

As much as I want Miles fired today, those numbers are the problem: not bad enough for us to legitimately part ways...Yet.

I wish those numbers were worse, then we could seriously be talking about change. We are watching the slow, painful, excruciating decline of our program....and it's really too slow, it needs to be expedited so we can move on to the next chapter of LSU football history.

What does that say about the LSU coaching staffs abilities?

Record 27 - 10 73%

I checked this out today, and over the 2012, 2013 and 2014 (incomplete) seasons, LSU is 18-10 against non-cupcake opponents. That 9-0 record vs. the cupcakes really pads the record ... imo.

I agree - the 33% number against top 10 and even the 53% against any ranked opponent was the eye opener for me.

You cannot simply look at wins and losses, but you must look at the direction of the program. If you wait until rock bottom, then it is already too late.

Nick Saban and Gary Patterson are defensive-minded coaches who see that football is now an offensive game. They has opened up their offenses and are reaping the rewards. Will Muschamp has proven that running the ball and playing defenses is not enough these days.

Miles talked about opening up the offense enough that Rettig believed that is where the team was heading and left. Miles talk about more spread during the season, but he cannot overcome his own tendencies to be stubborn.

This program needs a change of direction. This program needs new energy.

I agree completely. I wanted to point out the wins and losses just because Les Miles apologists use his record as reason to keep him. Perhaps even they will eventually see the downward spiral.

Why only the last 3 years? Why not 4 or 5?

As long as you are going to post something meaningless why not just say he is 0-2 in his last 2 games...

ok how about 1 - 2 in the last 3 bowl games.
How about 3 - 4 in SEC this year.
How about 1 - 4 against Alabama in last 5 games
How about 0 points scored last night against an Arkansas team that was winless in its last 17 SEC games.
Need anymore?

We are the only school playing those cupcakes. Yup, the only one.
