Finally getting around to watching season 2.

I liked season 1. I agree the show would be 100% trash without Spader. The entire cast ranges from terrible to meh.

The story of the week plots are fairly ridiculous but the whole Berlin story has been garbage for the most part.

As ridiculous as things got last season, season 2 has ramped it up. I could easily give this show the Terra Nova treatment.

Was there ever any legitimate reason that a prison transport from Russia was flying over the US?

The whole sawing his own hand off to hide in plain site was pretty bad.

The whole meeting before the transfer was stupid. Red could have killed Berlin and Berlin could have killed or captured Red.

Why exactly didn't Berlin open fire the second the wire transfer went through? Why didn't Red have snipers all over the place to take out Berlin the second his car pulled away?

I know. Too many things to pick at on this show to nitpick anything but the show could be somewhat decent if the plots weren't so over the top unbelievable.

For an elite task force, those guys sure are shitty when it comes to witness protection.

Oh that reminds me. Didn't you love the split personality episode. The chick takes out 4 agents with her sniper rifle, then they used tasers on everyone inside the house as their weak attempt to explain Elizabeth surviving the attack.

Also getting sick of the silly names for the bad guys of the week.

Red needed to know why he wanted him dead, and then needed to know why he thought Red had killed his daughter. Clearly someone was trying to get Red and have someone else do the dirty work.

The show is definitely over the top, but is also entertaining. I don't put much stock in the realism, but the overall storyline is compelling, just not always executed that well.

Red may want to know who told Berlin he tortured and killed his wife but that doesn't explain Berlin just driving off.

Also, Red allowing Berlin to leave, keeps too many people in danger. Someone else in his crew would possibly have the same information, so I still don't buy either of them leaving the drop site without attempting to murder the other person.

I also love how the good guys constantly let the bad guys go even though they are mere seconds behind them.

Time to fire Elizabeth. This is the second time she could have stopped a guy with a deadly virus only to let him go. Sure she got conked on her head, but she should have dropped a bullet in the guys skull without a second thought. The bones / virus were in a hazardous material bag.

Oh and Berlin said that he knew Red loved Elizabeth as much as his wife. So why hasn't he taken her and tortured her? Makes no sense. Red has one guy protecting her and he should be pretty easy to spot sitting in his car with a hoodie and binoculars.

Ok. The show probably already jumped the shark.

Fonzie just rode the bull.

The Mossad chick just started working for the unit and yet Elizabeth felt compelled to enter the plague infested room to be with her.

What a total crock of shite. They have already said the mortality rate is 100%. Out of all the BS on this show, this takes the fracking cake.

I assume the only way to get out of this tight spot is to have the Mossad chick kill herself to stop from spreading the disease. Guess I was wrong there.

Yikes! I was not expecting to see Mr. Homm trying his taxidermy skills with African cartel members.

Jeez. Can we please stop having unprotected people with Super Secret knowledge of doomsday devices?

How about starting with better vehicles that with a little bullet proof glass.

I imagine the writers, knowing the premise is so incredible, see no reason attempt to produce credible scripts. The FBI willingly subjecting themselves to Red's bidding is laughable and the Red character itself is, as someone else described it in another thread, "an amalgamation of Buddha and a Bond villain". Spader does pull it off though.

Binge watched this show on Netflix over the past month because some people at work were talking about how good it was.

It's very average. I agree with the sentiment that Spader is the only thing this show has going for it.

I love the weekly "well you need to be scared, because the Muffin Man is in town and he's here to bake bread" speeches Spader gives.

I do not care what anyone complains about with this show as any scene with Spader conversing/engaging with any character is worth watching. It's not like the story lines are intended to be dead serious. Lizzie would not have lasted long on 24, but this show is nothing like that.

With all his head tilting, I am wondering if Red actually has a spine.

Ask Alan Fitch if he has a spine. Oh, wait, he was blown up. Why don't we compare the show to something better, like Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, in the Following??? That complete POS is somehow going to have a season 3. Not saying the Blacklist is the best show ever, but still worth watching unlike most network shite, and it is largely due to Spader's Red.
