I almost got a ticket for not wearing mine (badass I know) and I just don't see why this is illegal.

How are other driver's\passengers in danger by my choice of not wearing a seatbelt?

I'm perfectly fine with you killing yourself.

It shouldn't be required, and this is coming from someone who wears a seat belt 100% of the time.

Of all the laws i usually agree with, this is the one that I do disagree with.

However I believe that children should still have to be buckled.

But if you are the driving adult you should have the right to ride unbuckled.

i`m not sure why anyone would not want to wear a seatbelt but no you shouldn`t have to.

I hate this discussion, because people never look past themselves.

The most pressing issue: if you get in to an accident and aren't properly restrained, the chances of you being able to control your vehicle afterwards are close to zero, which could easily lead to you causing more damage.

Then of course there's the whole insurance costs thing, but that's not as big of a deal compared to things like smoking and obesity.

It really is a BS ticket and that is not me saying that because I don't wear mine.

Its just someone's choice to provide more security in case of an accident

Speed limits- should this be considered a person's choice how fast they drive?

Hmm, I agree as long as you pay for all your medical bills directly related to not wearing a seatbelt, including spraying off the bits of your body left on the pavement.

entirely different IMO

Speeding puts other people lives at risk and danger

Let's say you flip your car and your window is down. Sure, you should be able to have that choice to off yourself if you want, but you getting flung from your car in a wreck puts other drivers in danger of crashing themselves due to circumstances out of their control.

Plus you have a better chance of keeping control of your vehicle if you're still...you know, actually sitting in the seat.

That doesn't make any sense.

Well, they save lives. When you fly do you act like the badass that you say you are and refuse to buckle - they can remove you from the aircraft - why is it legal or as you put it illegal?

It should, but I think those that choose to not wear a seat belt have a death wish.

yes, a seatbelt keeps you in the position to control the vehicle but if you are in a serious accident, more than likely you will be dazed and confused that will impair your ability to control the vehicle from causing more damage

Thinning out the herd would be a preferable way.
