Suppose Bama would have missed their last field goal , would we still be a 2pt dog?

Trying to understand how we end up a 2 pt underdog to Ark. After such a strong performance last week.

Point spreads means absolutely nothing to do with who they think will win. It's about numbers period. And if you want to believe they are then we are actually favored by one point. The home team gets three points automatically in most cases.

Yes its Arkansas and it cold outside Sat, apparently Arkansas is well trained in cold weather somehow but little old LSU just stepped in shite and doesn't know how to deal with it.

Away game, extremely cold (don't know that this really helps or hurts either team one way or the other), coming off hard-fought physical and heartbreaking loss, no Kenny Hilliard, Arkansas always either plays us tough or beats us.

I don't take much issue with us being a couple point dog. I think we win in a close one, though.

I think LSU would be slightly favored; I think the disappointing loss is a bigger betting factor than the weather and history between the teams. Arkansas has been competitive this season and you have to think they get over the hump and get an SEC win somewhere. Coming off a bye against a team that just suffered a tough loss, I can understand how many people would want to play that angle. I don't think it's an indictment of LSU's football program or anything.

To go back to the OP's question, I think the spread would have been still close, but we'd probably be favored.

It's amazing how much perspective changes based on the final score. If Bama had missed the field goal, then we be having threas about how awesome the program is instead of idiot threads about how Nick Saban destroyed LSU as a title program.
