Why did (or didn't) you go to college?

Did you go because of pressure from family? Because you wanted to? Because you wanted a better life for yourself?

For those who didn't go, why?

It was expected/agreed upon that I would do well in high school and my parents would pay for my college education. I never questioned it, that is just what my family does.

I was supposed to. Don't regret going. Glad I did. But obviously, if I could do it over, I most definitely wouldn't have gone to LSU; probably my biggest regret in life.

To party. it was a great 8 years.

I save for my sons college, but hopefully he can condense it a bit.

I regret my choice of college but I didn't have much information to make that decision....went to a small town high school where 70% of my graduating class was going into farming or oil field.

I went for football games and parties.

After six seasons, I accidentally graduated.

I don't regret LSU for a second, and I didn't even plan on going there. I was 100% out of state until I went down to LSU for a literary rally. fricking got pie eyed and missed the test completely, that was a helluva foreshadow. School was hard too, we had stiff competition in most of my classes. Good times, almost killed me, but good times none the less.

I was supposed according to my parents. Couldn't afford the school I wanted so went to a local university. Don't regret it but if I could go back I would of tried harder in high school.

Initially is was because it's what was expected and it seemed like the next logical step. After I quit for a few years and went back, it was with the new focus of understanding I didn't want to spend my life working dead end office jobs.
