I plan to buy one next year with the XLT trim. What is your opinion on the V6 EcoBoost to the regular V8? Has anybody with the EcoBoost, had any problems at all? Thanks for everyone's help

I had a 2011 fx4 with the 5.0 with zero problems. I now have a 2012 platinum with the ecoboost and haven't had a problem yet.

Both are great engines. First year ecoboosts had some kinks to be worked out but they are solid and have a lot of torque. I don't know that the MPG is as high as people hoped.

Okay thank you. I plan to use it for everyday driving to and from work plus to go to my family's hunting camp to do projects like (beating up beaver dams, cutting firewood), hunting and fishing, etc

I got a 2014 Platinum with eco-boost. I get 15.7 driving highway speeds (70-75)

To get close to the 22 they advertise you have to drive 55 on level ground with the a/c and radio off.

The engine is great - lots of torque when you need it. Had no problem accelerating around a semi towing my travel trailer at 80+mph.

Consumer Reports says the ecoboost is crap. Get the V8....it scored noticeably better in their reliability surveys.

Then again, I don't think your typical Ford customer cares about that.

Definitely not what most people hope. I get 17-18 avg. That's with 33" open country MT's. If you are worried about gas mileage, get a car.

Jesus, I get 16.7mpg in my 2011 5.0 Lariat 4x4.

Something's wrong with your situation.

I have the 2013 with the V8 and no issues. I get around 19 driving around normal and have gotten 22-23 on long interstate trips to Texas.

The ecoboost has been in ford vehicles for longer than the V8 actually

I drive an ecoboost. Both are great motors

If you want power and torque, buy the ecoboost. Don't buy it for the mileage or you'll be disappointed
