People comparing AJ's season and stats to Mett's 2012 season

need to realize 40 things.
1) Studwara was LSU's OC in 2012 and calling the plays and Kragthorpe was QB coach.
Those two very well may have been holding back Mett who was also a 4th year player in college football. AJ is being coached by the same guy that made Mett great supposedly, and still struggling.
2) TDs and INTs aren't the whole story and there is a difference between 59% and 47% completions. One guy is solely hitting on big plays once in a blue moon while the other was more consistent. Big difference especially seeing as Mett did that while throwing twice as many passes.
3) Mett threw 7 INTs in 13 starts that season, while Jennings has now thrown 6 in 5 starts and was benched for more than half of one start.
I hope that Jennings turns it up, but this silly comparison of the stats with Mett's 1st year starting to try and justify a future expectation is shortsighted and a poor analysis.

Where are the other 37 things?

I think the point is that Jennings, or Harris for that matter, can improve. I think everyone knows that Jennings has no where near the talent that Mett has.

Still mind boggling to think about. How in the....

It's the defend Miles at all costs sunshine pumping brigade.

Also Jennings WRs have not dropped near as many catchable balls as Metts WRs (Beckham and Landry) did in 2012. Beckham and Landry dropped a shitload of balls in 2012. We were all questioning the WRs coach.

Yeah, except this doesn't have a damn thing to do with Miles.
Go away, troll.

I haven't looked at all the Jennings/Harris threads since Saturday, but who is comparing?
I did compare earlier in the year, however, I expected some form of development, or light to come on. It hasn't for him at all, and the receivers either. His first 3 of 4 SEC games (I excluded the Auburn game because he didn't play much) and half of the season, were statically on par with Mett (which were bad BTW), minus the more pass attempts by Mett. Thing is, Mett showed some improvement after the bye week, and the WRs stopped dropping passes.
Neither has happened for this year's team.
Oh and the play calling doesn't look better than what Stud was calling. For example, we used some speed option with Mett, but we use absolutely zero with Jennings??? They are playing scared, and they have to because the QBs nor WRs can do what they are supposed to. We see flashes, but that's about it. Everybody knew about the youth. Everybody knew before the season that this was going to be the weak link and that we'd be running a lot. The only bad thing, is that it looks worse than probably most imagined. Not even completing 58% of passes, is really bad.
I really wish they'd utilize Fournette and Magee's hands more.

Mett and AJ should never be compared

I'm surprised that more on this board tend to ignore this fact. This board damn near exploded two years ago when Landry and Beckham were dropping all those passes.

There is no comparison. One is a struggling college player and the other one is an NFL starting QB(for how long who knows) who has a much better arm and actually is allowed to throw long and intermediate passes between the hash marks at both levels of play.
I wish AJ could turn into a NFL starting QB, but I don't think that is possible or that he even makes a NFL roster. Again I will eat crow if I'm wrong, but I think AJ's ceiling at best is Mason at UGA, and as a 5th year senior they were thinking about pulling him before last weeks game against UK.
