Hardware wise, my Z10 was awesome. The phone was so damn intuitive. The only thing that sucked was the camera.

But, apps apps apps. You can't compete in the smartphone market without them. Sure, you could get big brand apps, but I actually needed more "local" apps.

Trackpad makes copying and pasting much easier. I like having a hang up button for calls instead of going through two to three. Steps to end a phone call.

BlackBerry makes awesome phones. How is the camera on the new ones? PLEASE tell me they are better.

You would think they would make great cameras for their phones, especially since BlackBerry is geared towards professionals.

A lot of big businesses that use Blackberry's have "no camera" policies.

They are better. Not as good as the Windows phone but better.

When they rolled out the Q10, Heins made the great decision to remove the tool belt. ONe of the great features of the phone. The new system was so radically different, many people didn't buy the Q or got rid of it because they were frustrated. It took three OS updates to finally get some things right. For example, speed dial keys were removed. Great feature and my favorite. Didn't fix that until Feb, nearly a year later.

Chen rolled this out because the customers demanded it.

Pretty sold on getting this as a present for my mom for Christmas. Verizon didn't even have a Q10 in the store for me to look at to see how the newer OS works.

Any news on the Classic + Verizon?

it was the total lack of apps
I deleted about 50 apps from my iphone the other day...mostly games. I use about 10 apps, max, on a routine basis.

I have no doubt that Blackberry will have the apps that matter.

I'm the same way, I only use the basic apps. For a lot of people that will be enough.

But it definitely won't help BlackBerry catch on especially when it has to catch up so much ground. Whenever something new comes out you'll never know if your phone will ever get it, and if it does, it will be months after everyone else. I don't think any of the features this phone has makes that worth it.

That preorder is tempting but I still want to get my hands on a Passport to determine if it's for me. When will AT&T carry the damn thing?

I believe the original version is GSM. Just got off of the phone with Verizon on another issue, but the guy told me they have it scheduled to release on December 17th

You know about computers, you don't know about balance sheets.

BB has $3 billion in cash, debt free and the cash burn has about stopped. Sales are actually increasing and yesterday was a very good day for the company. Passport actually sold out at first and caught them by surprise.

The CEO and his team know what they are doing.

Notice the difference in launches. When dumbass Heins launched the Q10 at the end of Jan. 13, it didn't hit the states until the end of May and early June. Chen launches it on Dec 17 and it is going to go on sale in the US on the same day or close to it.

I was a major fan of BB...but, my last one was a huge piece of shite. Not sure I would ever go back.

I love my Z10...best phone I have ever owned. Although it doesn't have a physical keyboard it is so dang intuitive that it knows what I am going to text most of the time anyway. And I actually get a lot better performance out of my camera than my wife's HTC One (original, not the newer one). Nothing but good things to say about the phone as long as you don't need 1000 apps.
