“It’s a foul,” NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino said late Monday. “We’ve looked at it. In our view, he pushed off to create separation. To us, it was a clear foul.”

Graham admitted to Pro Football Talk on Monday after seeing the video of his pass interference penalty that there was "a slight push off" -- and "a lot of acting."

Because everyone, including Graham himself, says there was a push off?

Mike Florio said it was the call of the season and praised the officials.

The NFL around the league podcasters all agreed with it too.

A lot of Saints fans butt hurt because it doesn't usually get called and because a 6'7'' 260 lb man claimed he knocked over a man half his size with two fingers. Pssh. Ok then.

FWIW the NFL came out and said Golden Tate should've been flagged for a push in the Fail Mary game.

Everyone arguing with the call yesterday will ignore this thread.

Because the Saints are a team of destiny. A destiny to lose close games and never get it done late

I've said that he pushed off since I saw the replay but there also was a big flop. The actual push off wasn't enough for a flag on it's own but it was a heads up play by Cox to sell it.

It's sad when people can't admit they are wrong.
Also, to those who say in the past, hail mary's don't get called for OPI, but that is the past.

quote:

OPI is a 2014 point of emphasis for the NFL, and entering Week 10, officials had called almost as many of them (67) as they did in all 17 weeks of the 2013 season (74);

Can't find the article, but this wasn't the first OPI called on a hail mary in the last seconds of a half this year.

All I'm saying about it is this.

They'd better call OPI on EVERY MOTHERfrickING HAIL MARY NOW ON EVERY MOTHERfrickING TEAM.

It was OPI. Randy Moss did that shite on every jump ball pass, Hail Mary or not, he ever caught and he's going to the Hall of Fame.

I think he did a little acting...but I don't think any corner is going to straight flop and try to get that call on a hail mary instead of just trying to break it up. Seems awful risky to look like an idiot and lose the game

I'm demanding consistency. So be it.

Same ways some QBs can get decapitated but you touch Tom Brady anywhere........

You're in no position to make demands.

The refs were consistent in that game.
If that was the only OPI, then there would be reason to be pissed.

Honestly, Graham didn't even need to push off "a little", but had the defender initiated the contact, the flag wouldn't have been thrown.

So Saints fans can't point out it's absurd to point out that it was a penalty when everyone knows it was and everyone knows they never call it or else they're biased?

So it's okay to selectively enforce the rules and then hide behind the rule when you enforce it. Got it.

Graham pushed. CB flopped. It looked blatant so it was called. What are we arguing about?

It was borderline OPI which is exactly why it shouldn't be called in that situation. That's also why the league sided with the officials. That was expected.

It's like you're driving on the Interstate and 10 cars fly past you going about 90 and then the cop pulls you over because you were going 72. But hey, you were speeding, right? THERE IS NO EXCUSE. THE COP DID THE RIGHT THING. HE ENFORCED THE RULE.
