See, I've been having a problem for a while, now. Whenever LSU loses I can sometimes say the team on the otherside of the field beat us, and the team needs to get better. I get angry and accept that (i.e. Miss St and Auburn).

However, I simply have a hard time stomaching losses where there are more controversial plays than fingers on both my hands. Now, obviously I'm gonna have to give the officials the benefit of the doubt on at least a few of them. Sometimes you miss stuff you know, but this is just getting on the ridiculous side of things.

I just don't believe Bama was the better team, Saturday. And yes, we should have beat Bama anyway, but it shouldn't be decided by the black and white stripes at all. The officials are there to keep the game fair, but I have seen too many Bama games in particular seem biased. A quote from Les Miles stated that they sent in 25 questionable plays.

TWENTY_FIVE!!! That's almost 1/6(16.7%) of the total plays int the entire game (157). I'm sorry, that is just too incredulous. I can see a ref missing 1/10 - 1/4 (10%-25%) of penalties on actual penalty plays, but to miss 1/6 of all the plays in the game? Ok, that's ridiculous.

There's even a thread pointing out 10 missed or wrong calls, along with evidence, on the rant; and it doesn't even mention the blown holding penalties on Bama. In fact, to go both sides, I'm sure the refs missed some on LSU's side, too (not that they didn't make it up with the unsportsmanlike on Vadal Alexander. This just screams incompetence to me. The refs are not only missing obvious calls, they are missing consistently.

Blame the coach, blame the players, but, if anything, blame the refs, too. I want people officiating who actually know what the hell they're doing, biased or not.

If nothing happened to the replay official in 2009, then nothing is ever going to happen to them.

How many of the 25 included bad calls against Bama?

That's really just not true. The game was pretty even until the end, and Saban and staff did a much better job in OT. Saban's plan at the end of the game is what won it for Bama more than anything. The PF and the kickoff out of bounds was a back breaker but was nothing Miles could have anticipated. Both staffs did a great job, but in OT Saban did work.

I gave y'all the benefit of the doubt. I said they missed too many calls and suck at refs. The 25 questionable calls were apparently sent by LSU (Les said around that many in an interview). I never said they're were none for Bama. I'm just pointing out how incompetent these refs were and are.

It would be easier if you just got over it. We lost.

I know the internet isn't supposed to be real or whatever, but forums like this really give you an insight into the way people's minds work.

I'll say this one more time. We recovered a fumble on their 6 yard line with 1:12 on the clock (in a tie game), and ended up losing. That is a fricking choke of epic proportions.

But all you guys want to talk about is the refs. There really is a constituency within this fan base that will never admit when LSU screws the pooch. A football game has never been played that didn't include some bad calls and no-calls, but we were in excellent position to win, pissed it away and got pushed to overtime, and somehow decided that the passing game was what we needed to get over the hump (though we effectively ran for most of the game, and the passing game hadn't produce jack shite).

LSU's football team can't control the fricking refs. But they can control how they play the game.

Some dude on the sec rant just coined the term the "black and white tide."

That about sums it up.
