And people are walking around thumping their chests like we beat the shite out of Alabama everywhere but the scoreboard. 56 fricking runs really??

Yes it's aggravating as hell, but man the frick up and move on!

The game plan was to shorten the game to limit Bama possessions. It worked until a kickoff went out of bounds with 50 seconds left.

i don't have a problem with the game plan other than i thought they let jennings pass too much. more fournette... especially in OT where they had jennings pass 4 times in a row, all incomplete.

offensive production from both sides was stupid bad, but in the end, they made more plays than LSU did. it sounds too simple an explanation, but that's what it really boils down to.

Holding bama to 13 points in regulation? you can't ask for more than that, considering how absolutely lethal that offense has been as of late.

Scoring 13 in regulation yourself? you have to ask for more than that from LSU's standpoint.

That first play was a great call that should have opened up the run for us. Jennings made a good throw on that one. But for the most part, yes I agree.

Do we just ignore how good Bama's defense is in this scenario?

maybe try oh I don't know, throwing to fournette again or using him as a decoy going out for a pass?

i would think that he would draw a ton of attention at least

If Jones catches the ball, he should have. LSU has a first down or maybe a second down and three at the worst. Then you see the running game again. If Quinn catches those easy passes, either one, it probably doesn't matter, but you never know.

Totally agree. The running game was working and they should have run about 10 more times IMO. Hilliard's injury really cost the team IMO. He came out smoking. Damn shame.

Enlighten me on how good Bama's defense really is. We absolutely suck at throwing the ball, yet we still managed to line up and run on a stacked box all night. Their DBs have been the weakness of their defense all season, but we couldn't take advantage because of ineptitude. We basically lined up against them, knowing full well that they were prepared for the run, and we ran the ball. We probably win if we complete 10-12 passes, and we likely blow their doors off if the QBs are switched. Les' gameplan was to run the ball (check), control the clock (check), and minimize turnovers (kinda check). We basically did what we wanted offensively except pass well (surprise surprise).

I'm not saying that their defense isn't really good, but it's overrated. They can be run on, and their secondary is suspect when a good QB is throwing at em. They also did a poor job of containing Jennings when he's not really a threat to pass and a below-average runner. They may beat MSU this weekend, but Prescott will have a huge game.

They're 4th in the nation in total defense. Are you serious?

Wisconsin is #1, but do you really think they're the best defense in the country? shite god-awful Baylor is 15th in the country in total defense. They gave up a million points to TCU, but they've played 5-6 teams without a pulse to pad their stats.

LSU had the better defense on Saturday night, no question about it. Bama faced a one-dimensional offense and couldn't get off the field.

we can play the if only game all day, but if only trey quinn doesn't drop ONE of the two 3rd down passes for first down... LSU wins that game.
