I just posted some simple statistics. if that is the 1st question that pops into your head after reading them, then maybe you need to ask that question to yourself.

# of losses in Saban's terrible final year at LSU that proved the program wasn't in great shape when Miles took over = 3

# of losses in 5 of 10 years under Les = 3 (or more)

Was Cholly Mac's coaching staff one of the highest paid, if not the highest paid, in the country?

Other than the JL stint at the beginning of 2011 and last year with 4 guys now starring in the NFL, this team is very reminiscent of the Charlie Mac years. Losing to quality opponents in close, low scoring games, and occasionally winning a close, low scoring game. Midtier bowls. Upper tier of the SEC, but not cream. Although it's hard to remember many games where Mac's teams were just awful on defense. Yeah, different eras, blah, blah, blah, just talking about from a fan's perspective. In both cases, a coach the players loved playing for, well respected in his profession, a really likable guy, but just didn't seem to keep pace with changes in the game.

Make a deal with him. You stop pretending that we should be satisfied with Miles and he stops posting this thread.

Winning percentage is the only fair comparison because of the number of games played each year was different in the McClendon era.

This is a BS statistic. Look at winning percentage-we are playing more games per year than we did then.

That was my point. He only posted the losses, so I posted the wins to prove that point.

So I guess what you're saying is that Les has a better record than McClendon because he's coached more games and has won more SEC Championships?

More food for thought: In McClendon's first 10 years, LSU finished in the top 2 in the standings twice. In Les Miles first 10 years, LSU has finished in the top 2 in the standings 7 times.

You know, since we're comparing.

that's not even close to being accurate.
