Can someone please suggest a decent hotel near the airport in Shreveport. I just need a place for a night for the family before we fly out on a early flight in a few weeks. I ask because every single hotel I look at on google has bad reviews. I've never seen such a collection of awfully reviewed hotels.

That's a terrible part of town. Lots of democrats in the area.

I go to Shreveport for work occasionally and stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It can't be too far from the airport...everything around there is "10 minutes away"

In that case, I will widen my search area. I'm coming up 171, if that matters, any place you suggest?

The airport area is a shite hole. May look on the other side of the inner loop. Financial Plaza area.

Between the airport and Pines rd, on Financial Plaza. Much better on that side of the loop. Or was, haven't been in a few years.

Yeah one of the few bad Hampton Inn experiences I've had was at the one by the SHV airport. Meanwhile the Hampton Bossier right off Airline and 220 is up to par & just a few minutes away on the loop, plus you can get a discount coupon for food and strong drink at Nicky's (approximation of) Mexican next door.

Hilton Garden Inn a little bit down the road on I-20 will be a good bet for you.

Stay away from the Fairfield Inn in that area. I walked out of the hotel thru the lobby and remembered I forgot eye drops in the shaving kit, so I entered the hotel from the side exit and went up to the room. Two men entered the room using a room key while I was in the bathroom getting the eye drops. Still unsure if they were more surprised than me. I immediately went downstairs to ask how they had a key to my room. The girl behind the desk was mortified and could not respond. I took everything out of the room and checked out, filed incident report with Marriott, never heard anything back from the hotel or corporation.

Hilton Garden on Financial Plaza is your best bet. Take a left in 3132 from 171, then go west on I-20 and the first exit will be Pines road.

Stay at one of the casinos. You're only 15 to 20 minutes from the airport via I-20.
