I bought Kary's roux today. Should I be ashmed?

Made a gumbo with Kary's jar roux and Tony's powder. One Gump rally enjoyed it. It came out good. Might post pics if the phone turns up after the OT melee.

I used Karys on Halloween night. Worked fine for me in a pinch. I still prefer my own roux though.

I can make a good roux, but I'll use Kary's at times. No shame necessary.

I made my first roux and gumbo last night. It turned out really good, but it took a long time. Not judging anyone for jar roux.

I can make a roux just fine but I usually use jarred roux. No one complains and I don't have to stay at the stove and stir. Good stock, fresh trinity, smoky sausage and dark chicken meat are the keys to good gumbo IMO

If your gumbo is that heavily dependant on the roux, then you didn't have a chance anyway.
