Looking at getting one for fishing Texoma for stripper and hauling to the coast 4-5 times a year. Anyone ridden in one? The only thing I don't like so far is the lack of storage and leaning post not having room for a cooler. Rod boxes are not as nice as other brands either, so rod storage looks limited. Interested in how it rides in a good chop for short trips offshore. Thanks!

I have a 20' bay and I love it but I only paid 23k for it. That being said the 24' is around 40k and not worth it in my opnion. For that you can get a nice used 24' fiberglass boat or possibly a new 22'. Don't get me wrong it rides great for aluminum. I also did some upgrades to mine as the factory lacks quality stuff. I personally would never spend 40k on it..for that you can get way more in a fiberglass boat. Good luck with your purchase

What he said!
I have the H20B also. They ride great for an alum boat. I would never by one for $40K.
you are right about the rod storage and lack of ice chest space. those one some of my biggest complaints. its a great all around boat - not the best choice for 24/7 coastal fishing. You also will be lacking raw water wash down, storage and the stability from the width of a glass boat.

All good things to think about. I have been pricing 22 & 24' fiberglass bays, 22's with the stuff I want are at least mid 40's, 24's way up in the mid to high 50's.... Trying to figure out if it is worth it.

i can get a loaded out h24 up here for low 40's, 22' in mid 30's

When i fish in my friend's fiberglass boats, it really makes me miss the creature comforts that those hulls offer. Xpress added only what was needed to enter the "bay boat" market.
- Also, another thing is there is no bow anchor storage. These is no true DRY storage. I have sealed it about 90-95% with silicone but if in a hard rain, you will get wet carpet in the compartments. The center console is scaled down to fit so you don't have much room for lots of accessories. The CC baitwell cover/seat isnt lockable or insulated so it isnt optimal.
- All of these things ive mentioned are what ive found in mine vs fiberglass. I still really like my boat.
-It fishes 2-3 people easily and 4 is possible. It is perfect for my needs and i fish bream, bass, reds and trout. Ive added things that i wish came from the factory. Lowrance nav/FF, 3 bank switch panel w/ plug in for charging phone, LED lighting, 10" jackplate and the correct prop, ive added 8mph to the top speed. I can go just about anywhere. It is a tough boat. For the 20' boat price, you cant beat it, but for a 24' i'd definitely be looking for a glass boat

Yeah, this is big downside to me.....

How have you found adding rod holder and stuff like that?

What?
I usually have a few in the CC and the backups or less used in one locker. The other rod locker is used for storage. the way the bow tapers up really forces the rods to tangle. I suggest having patience, buying rod socks or making a storage system like the bass boats do. I have not added any rod storage. For 3 people (3-4 poles each)there is enough space.
I keep my cajun anchor pole in the rod locker and throwable anchor in the stern storage.

haha, that was bad. I meant to ask "How difficult have you found it to be to add rod holders and stuff like that". These boats don't have the gunnel to add the nice flush mounts (thinking about trolling for striper and deep dropping)

Last time I looked they still only offered a tiny 35 gallon fuel tank on the 24 footer.

That would be major problem for me. That will definitely restrict your range and affect your plans if you plan on taking the boat for multi-day trips where fuel may not be readily available.

Fuel tanks are 30 gal. the 24' with a 225-250hp may drink that. My 115 sips it.
I don't think it would be ideal to add rod holders for trolling. Thats best left to the t tops or boats with the holders in the side rails.
