So I just recently received a check from a back in Australia for a job I've been working on. The check is written in dollars, but how do I know if these are AUD or USD?

Obviously I can go through payroll services and try to get it that way, but they are worthless and take forever. If I go to my back and try to deposit it, is there a way they can determine? I'm just trying to see if they already transferred it into USD or if I'm gonna lose ~1K because of currency exchange.

TIA!

If it's AUD what would you do? Do you have a written agreement which specifies the currency?

I had a goofy Canadian guy write me a Canadian check and in the memo line he wrote US dollars, it cashed as US dollars

I was skeptical as hell but it worked out. Take it to the bank and cash it to see what happens.

What's your contract say abt your pay?
